WHAT IT DOES

Amex Web Offer Activation Reminder reads American Express offers from your account page and displays a floating offer activation reminder badge showing the count of unactivated offers. The badge shows the number of available offers, with color coding—blue for normal, gold when all offers are activated, and red when offers are expiring soon. An expiring offers indicator shows how many offers expire within 7 days. The panel displays a summary of total offers, activated offers, and remaining offers. The extension tracks offer viewing history per session, showing which offers you've seen. When offers are expiring soon, a desktop notification is triggered. The panel settings let you control overlay visibility, refresh offers, toggle redeemed offers visibility, and adjust notification preferences.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all American Express pages at americanexpress.com and its subdomains, specifically on account pages where offers are displayed. It runs on the main account page, the offers page, the Amex offers dashboard, and any page displaying offer information. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access American Express' servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to americanexpress.com and log in to your account. The extension automatically creates a floating offer activation reminder badge on the page. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings panel. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the badge visibility. The badge shows the count of available offers, expiring offers, and a summary. Use the "Refresh" button to manually update the badge with the latest offer information. The "Show redeemed offers" toggle controls whether redeemed offers appear in the summary. The "Expiring offer notifications" toggle controls desktop notifications for offers expiring within 7 days. Adjust the overlay transparency using the opacity dropdown (70%, 82%, 92%, or 100%). Drag the badge by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the badge with the × button.

OFFER EXTRACTION WITH ACTIVATION STATUS DETECTION AND EXPIRY NOTIFICATION

Unlike simple offer counters, this extension uses a multi-selector extraction engine to find offer items from American Express' varying page structures. It searches for offers using multiple selector patterns (.offer-item, .offer-card, .amex-offer) and falls back to text parsing. For each offer, it extracts the description, expiration date using date parsing, and activation status using keyword detection (activated, added, saved). Redeemed status is detected using redeemed/used keyword matching. The expiring offers filter identifies offers expiring within 7 days. Session-based view tracking uses a unique session ID to store which offers have been viewed, showing only offers that haven't been seen before. The notification system checks for expiring offers every time the page updates and sends a desktop notification with a one-day cooldown.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on americanexpress.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, opacity, redeemed offers visibility, notification preference, and offer history, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. American Express' website changes periodically, and offer element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting offers until an update is released. The extension stores your overlay position, size, opacity, visibility, redeemed offers preference, notification preference, and session-based viewed offer IDs locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. Viewed offers are stored as an array of offer IDs per session ID. The offer count is based on offers visible on the page—the extension does not access American Express' internal offer data. Always verify with American Express directly for the most current offer information. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for americanexpress.com.
