WHAT IT DOES

Amplitude Cohort Retention Chart Overlay scans the current page for Amplitude cohort retention data, extracting cohort names, retention percentages, time periods, and user counts from Amplitude retention reports. The floating panel shows a retention chart with cohort retention over time, highlighting key retention periods and drop-off points. Color-coded indicators (green for strong, yellow for moderate, red for weak) and a summary of cohort performance provide quick visibility. Filter by cohort and time range, and export retention data as CSV or text. Best and worst performing cohorts are highlighted, and retention trends are tracked over time.

Works on Amplitude retention reports, including cohort analysis pages, retention dashboards, and user retention views. The script detects cohort data using Amplitude-specific selectors and extracts retention metrics. It works best on Amplitude cohort retention pages.

HOW TO USE

The panel displays a summary of cohorts, average retention percentage, and the best-performing cohort, followed by a detailed list of each cohort with retention bars. Each cohort shows its name, user count, average retention with color coding, and a mini chart showing retention across periods. The best cohort is marked with a trophy badge, and the worst cohort is marked with a warning badge. Click "Scan Retention" to detect all cohorts on the current page. Export the retention data as text for reporting or analysis. The panel automatically highlights cohorts with weak retention.

MECHANISM — COHORT RETENTION EXTRACTION WITH PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

The script detects Amplitude cohorts by finding cohort containers using selectors (.cohort-row, .retention-row). From each container, it extracts the cohort name, retention percentages, and user counts using targeted sub-selectors. Retention periods are extracted as percentage values, and average retention is calculated for each cohort. The best and worst performing cohorts are identified by comparing average retention rates. The retention chart displays mini bars for each period, color-coded by retention health. The summary includes total cohorts, average retention across all cohorts, and the best cohort name. All extraction and calculation runs client-side with no network calls.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per domain. Click the minimize button to collapse it to a small bubble, or press Escape to hide it. The panel automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and can be resized to show more content. All settings, including retention thresholds and alert preferences, are saved per domain. The panel integrates smoothly with any page layout using the BGPanel framework, maintaining clean separation from page content.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It does not send any data to external servers; all extracted cohort data and settings remain entirely local to your browser using GM_setValue. The script never reads password fields, hidden inputs, or file inputs. It stores only cohort names, retention percentages, user counts, and time periods from publicly visible Amplitude page content. Cohort detection depends on the page structure; if cohorts are not detected, use the "Scan Retention" button to refresh extraction. The script works on Amplitude pages and detects pages by hostname. Retention thresholds are configurable and can be adjusted to match your benchmarks. Data persists across browser sessions and is isolated per browser profile.
