About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool helps you organize and navigate your Arlo video clip library. It scans clip library pages for metadata—clip names, cameras, timestamps, durations, and types (motion, audio, manual). The panel displays clips organized by date and camera with visual indicators: recent clips (last 24 hours) are highlighted with a blue border and a "NEW" badge, while older clips appear dimmed. Filtering controls let you show clips by type (All, Motion, Audio, Manual), and sorting options order clips by date, camera, or duration. Storage usage is calculated by day, showing how many clips and total duration per day. Quick "View" and "Download" buttons provide easy access to clips.

WHERE IT RUNS

The script activates on Arlo pages (arlo.com), including clip library views, camera history pages, and recording listings. It automatically detects clip data using multiple extraction strategies that work across different Arlo layouts. The panel appears as a draggable overlay that stays accessible as you browse your clip library.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to your Arlo clip library page. The panel will appear showing all clips organized by date. Use the "Sort" dropdown to order clips by date, camera, or duration. Toggle "Hide Old/Show Old" to control whether clips older than 7 days appear. Use the type filter buttons (All, Motion, Audio, Manual) to focus on specific clip types. Set the "Refresh (s)" input to control how often the script checks for updates (default 60 seconds). The "Refresh" button manually updates the data. Click the "View" button on any clip to open it, and "Download" to attempt downloading the clip. The summary shows total clips, recent clips, camera count, and total duration. Storage usage shows clip counts and duration by day.

THE TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The script employs a multi-strategy DOM extraction approach for Arlo's clip library interface. It first attempts structured selectors targeting known class names like .clip-item, .video-item, and .recording-item, then falls back to heuristic detection of clip containers based on content patterns including "camera", "motion", and "recording" indicators. Clip names are extracted from dedicated name elements or by parsing the first non-numeric text line. Camera names are extracted from camera elements. Timestamps are extracted from time patterns with support for 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Dates are extracted from date patterns. Durations are extracted from patterns like "X sec" or "X seconds". Clip types are detected from text patterns (motion, audio, manual). Recent status is determined by comparing the clip date to the current date (within 24 hours). Storage usage is calculated by aggregating clips by date using JavaScript Map objects. The auto-refresh uses setInterval with a user-configurable interval, and a MutationObserver watches for page updates. All settings are persisted using GM_setValue.

THE PANEL

The panel is fully draggable by its header and remembers its position on the page across sessions. It can be collapsed to a small bubble using the minimize button, then restored by clicking the bubble. The panel resizes automatically to fit its content and can be closed with the Escape key or by clicking the close button. The panel's position and state persist globally, so it returns to the same location on subsequent visits.

PLEASE NOTE

Requires the free BotGentz extension to run. Arlo may update its site structure, which could affect the script's ability to detect clip data — updates will be released as needed. All clip data is read from the page and displayed locally; nothing is transmitted externally. The script reads data from the visible page and does not access any data beyond what is visibly presented. The script does not modify your Arlo account or clip library. The download button attempts to find a download link on the page; if none exists, you may need to use Arlo's native download function. This tool is for informational purposes only and is not affiliated with Arlo.
