WHAT IT DOES

beehiiv Bulk Subscriber Segment Assigner lets you manage subscriber segments at scale. Instead of opening each subscriber individually and toggling segments one by one, this tool presents a clean checklist of all subscribers on the current page. You can filter subscribers by email, name, or existing segments to narrow down your target group. Select any number of subscribers using checkboxes, choose a segment from the dropdown, and click Apply. The tool automatically opens beehiiv's segment assignment modal, selects or deselects the chosen segment for each subscriber, and confirms the changes. You can also switch to "Remove instead" mode to bulk-remove segments from selected subscribers. This turns what could be hundreds of manual clicks into a single operation.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs exclusively on the beehiiv web application in your browser. It activates on subscriber list pages, audience management pages, and dashboard views where subscriber data is displayed in a list or table format. It requires the BotGentz extension to inject and execute the script. The tool does not work on beehiiv's mobile app or any third-party wrappers — only the web version accessed through a Chromium-based or Firefox browser. It specifically targets pages under *.beehiiv.com, including subdomains like app.beehiiv.com or dashboard.beehiiv.com.

HOW TO USE

After installing the script via BotGentz, navigate to your beehiiv subscriber list or audience page. The tool automatically detects subscriber data and displays a floating panel on the right side of the screen. The panel shows all subscribers visible on the current page, with checkboxes next to each email address. Use the filter box to search by email or name, or use the segment filter dropdown to show only subscribers with a specific segment. Check the boxes for every subscriber you want to modify. Below the list, select a segment from the dropdown — this loads available segments from your beehiiv account. Toggle "Remove instead" if you want to remove the segment rather than assign it. Click "Apply to Selected" and the tool will open beehiiv's segment assignment modal, automatically select or deselect the chosen segment for all checked subscribers, and confirm the changes. A status message appears when the operation completes.

THE ACTUAL MECHANISM — WHY IT WORKS

beehiiv's subscriber interface is built with React and uses virtual DOM rendering for its data tables. The subscriber list is paginated and dynamically loaded as you scroll or navigate pages. This tool directly reads the DOM structure beehiiv renders, identifying subscriber rows by their role attributes, data attributes, and structural patterns that persist across updates. For each subscriber, the tool extracts the email, name, and existing segment tags from the rendered HTML. The checkbox toggles are linked to subscriber IDs extracted from row attributes or checkbox values, ensuring each selection maps correctly. When applying changes, the tool locates beehiiv's segment assignment modal by searching for dialog elements, popup containers, or bulk action interfaces. It then uses React-friendly event dispatching — synthetic MouseEvent objects that bubble through React's synthetic event system — to click checkboxes within the modal and trigger the confirm action. This approach works without relying on fixed screen coordinates or fragile CSS class names that change frequently, focusing instead on semantic roles and stable data attributes.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable — click and drag the header to reposition it anywhere on the page. The panel's position is saved per site in localStorage, so it reappears exactly where you left it when you return to the subscriber page. Double-click the header to snap the panel to the nearest edge (left or right). A collapse button minimizes the panel to a small tab showing a gear emoji badge, keeping it out of the way while still accessible. The subscriber list inside the panel is scrollable and resizes vertically based on the number of subscribers. Pressing Escape while the panel is focused closes it completely; reopening is done via a small button injected near the page header (visible only on subscriber pages). All panel interactions are non-blocking — beehiiv's main UI remains fully responsive while the panel is open, and the panel updates automatically when you navigate between pages or change filters.

This script requires the BotGentz extension (free) to run user scripts on beehiiv. beehiiv frequently updates its web interface and React component structure; if the tool stops working, check for an updated version within BotGentz's script repository. This tool does not store, transmit, or log any user data, subscriber emails, or segment information — all operations occur locally in your browser with no external network requests except those made by beehiiv itself. Segment changes are applied through beehiiv's own UI event system, so all changes respect your account's permission settings and segment limits. The tool does not bypass beehiiv's API or permission system; it simply automates the clicks you would otherwise perform manually. For very large subscriber lists with hundreds of entries, the tool may take several seconds to complete the operation — a progress indicator appears in the flash message area during processing. Always double-check your selections before applying changes, as bulk segment operations are irreversible through this tool (though beehiiv's UI allows manual reverts). The tool only affects subscribers visible on the current page; to modify all subscribers, use beehiiv's built-in pagination controls to navigate through all pages.
