Bulk Attachment Downloader from Email Thread

WHAT IT DOES This tool helps you quickly download multiple email attachments from an email thread or attachment list page. It scans the current page for links to files with common attachment extensions (images, documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, archives, audio, video, and more), extracts the URLs and file names, and displays them in a scrollable list with checkboxes and file type badges. You can then select which attachments to download and open them all in new tabs, copy their URLs to the clipboard as a text list, or export them as HTML link tags. This is especially useful for downloading multiple attachments from long email threads without clicking each one individually. WHERE IT RUNS The script runs on any website, making it compatible with all major webmail providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, etc.) and any other page that displays attachment links. It does not require a separate extension popup, background process, or external server. Everything happens within the page context, interacting with the page's DOM. HOW TO USE 1. Open an email thread or attachment list page in your webmail provider. 2. Open the BotGentz panel. 3. Optionally customize the list of file extensions to scan for (default includes common attachment types). 4. Click "Scan Page for Attachments" to start. 5. The script will scan the page and display a list of found attachments with checkboxes, file extension badges, and file names. 6. Select or deselect attachments using the checkboxes. 7. Use the action buttons: - "Open Selected in New Tabs" to open each attachment in a new tab for downloading. - "Copy URLs to Clipboard" to copy all selected attachment URLs as a text list. - "Export as HTML (link tags)" to copy selected attachments as HTML tags. - "Deselect All" or "Select All" to quickly change selections. TECHNICAL MECHANISM Unlike browser extensions that rely on email provider APIs, this script operates entirely on the public DOM. It scans all elements with href attributes and checks if the URL's file extension is in the user-specified list of allowed extensions. The default list includes over 40 common attachment types covering documents (pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx), images (jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, svg, webp), archives (zip, rar, 7z, tar, gz), audio/video (mp3, mp4, wav, avi, mov, mkv), and other common formats (txt, csv, psd, ai, eps). For each discovered link, it extracts the URL, the link text (or fallback to the file name), and the file extension for display. The list is rendered with a clean interface showing file extension badges for quick identification. The download mechanism uses GM_openInTab to open each attachment URL in a new tab, which triggers the browser's native download behavior — this is the only reliable way to download files without chrome.downloads API. THE PANEL The tool appears as a draggable, resizable panel on the side of your screen. You can drag it to any position by clicking and holding the header, resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner, and collapse it to a small bubble when not in use. Press the Escape key to close the panel. The panel remembers its position and size per domain so it stays where you left it on your next visit. PLEASE NOTE This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It does not store any personal data — all attachment scanning happens locally and no data is sent to any external server. The script uses GM_openInTab to open attachment URLs in new tabs; this is not a true "download" but the most reliable way to trigger downloads without chrome.downloads API. Opening many tabs at once may be slow; consider using "Copy URLs to Clipboard" with an external download manager for large batches. The script depends on the page's HTML structure — if attachments are not detected, try expanding or scrolling to load all attachments. Use responsibly and respect each site's terms of service.
