About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Bulk Dividend Payment Date Checker solves a common income investing challenge: tracking dividend payment dates and amounts across multiple stocks is tedious when done manually across different websites. This tool lets you enter a list of stock ticker symbols and fetches dividend payment dates and related information for each from a public financial API (Yahoo Finance). Results are displayed in a scrollable checklist with symbol, next dividend date, ex-dividend date, dividend amount, dividend yield, and payout frequency. Color-coded indicators make it easy to identify upcoming dividends (green), recent dividends (yellow), and stocks with no dividend data (gray). You can filter results to show only upcoming dividends, filter by status, and export the complete dataset as CSV or JSON for further analysis.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension panel runs directly inside your browser as an overlay on any web page. It works independently of any specific site and requires no additional API keys or permissions beyond the BotGentz extension. The tool fetches dividend data from a public financial API, making it usable from any browser session.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension and activating Bulk Dividend Payment Date Checker, click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel. Enter your stock ticker symbols in the text area — you can separate them by commas or new lines. For example: "AAPL, MSFT, KO, JNJ" or each on its own line. The preview section shows how many tickers you've entered. Toggle "Show upcoming dividends only" if you want to filter results to only stocks with upcoming dividend payments. Click "Check Dividends" to begin fetching data. The tool processes each ticker sequentially with a 400ms delay, showing live progress updates. Results appear with color-coded status indicators and show next dividend date, ex-dividend date, amount, yield, and frequency. Use the filter dropdown to view upcoming, recent, no-dividend, or error results. Click "Export Report" to copy the complete dataset to your clipboard in CSV or JSON format. Click "Clear" to reset the panel.

TECHNICAL OPERATION — Dividend Data Fetching and Parsing

This tool uses Yahoo Finance's public API endpoint (`query1.finance.yahoo.com/v8/finance/chart/{ticker}`) to fetch stock data, then parses the `events.dividends` object to extract dividend payment information. For each ticker, the tool identifies the most recent dividend payment, extracting the payment date, ex-dividend date (one day before the payment date), dividend amount, and calculates the dividend yield based on the current price. The tool categorizes dividends as "upcoming" (future date), "recent" (past date), or "none" (no dividend data). The tool handles API response parsing with robust error handling for invalid tickers, network errors, and timeouts. A 400ms delay between requests prevents rate limiting and API congestion. Results can be exported as CSV with proper field quoting for Excel compatibility, or as structured JSON for programmatic use.

THE PANEL

The extension panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per site session. It snaps to the nearest edge of the browser viewport when dragged within 50 pixels of any side. You can collapse the panel to a compact title bar using the minimize button, preserving your selection state. The panel resizes vertically by dragging the bottom edge. Press the Escape key to close the panel instantly. The preview updates in real-time as you enter tickers, and the results section updates as fetches complete.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension to function. The script fetches dividend data from a public financial API and does not store, transmit, or log any ticker data, dividend information, or user activity. All operations are performed locally from your browser session. The Yahoo Finance API is a public endpoint and may have rate limits or availability changes. Data is for informational purposes only and may be delayed; the tool is not a substitute for professional financial advice. The tool uses a 400ms delay between requests to prevent rate limiting. Ticker symbols are case-insensitive and are normalized to uppercase. Export formats include CSV and JSON for maximum compatibility with analysis tools. Some tickers may return errors if they are invalid or not available on the API. Always verify critical dividend information through official sources before making investment decisions. Dividend data availability varies by stock and may not be available for all tickers.
