About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Bulk Sitemap Generator Across Pages is a developer and SEO tool that streamlines the process of generating sitemaps from lists of URLs. Instead of manually writing XML for each URL, copying titles, or building HTML lists by hand—a process that can be tedious and error-prone—this script automates the entire workflow. It scans the current page for URLs and links, displays them as a scrollable checklist with titles and hostnames, and generates a structured sitemap (XML or HTML) from selected URLs. The script supports configurable metadata including priority (0.0-1.0) and change frequency (always, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, never). The generated sitemap can be copied directly to your clipboard for use in search engine submission, website documentation, or client presentations. This is ideal for web developers, SEO specialists, content managers, and anyone who needs to create sitemaps from existing URL lists.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script is universal—it runs on any website (*://*/*) as a userscript injected through the BotGentz extension. It operates within the context of your current browser tab and cannot access other tabs, bookmarks, history, or downloads. The script reads the page DOM to identify URLs using links and text patterns, extracts titles and hostnames, and generates sitemaps using the selected format. All operations occur locally in your browser; no data is sent to external servers. The script outputs the sitemap to your clipboard for manual use.

HOW TO USE

1. Navigate to any page containing a list of URLs you want to include in a sitemap—a site directory, a client portfolio page, a links page, or any text with URLs.

2. Click the BotGentz extension icon and select "Bulk Sitemap Generator Across Pages" from the script list.

3. The panel opens on the right side of the page. It automatically scans the current page for URLs.

4. Review the detected URLs, showing titles and hostnames.

5. Select your sitemap format: XML (sitemap.xml) or HTML.

6. Set the default priority (0.0-1.0) for all URLs in the sitemap.

7. Select the change frequency (always, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, never).

8. For HTML sitemaps, toggle "Include metadata" to show last modified dates.

9. Check the boxes next to URLs you wish to include. Use "Select All" or "Deselect All" for quick selection.

10. Click "Generate Sitemap" to generate the sitemap and copy it to your clipboard.

11. Paste the sitemap into a file (sitemap.xml or .html) or use it directly.

WHY IT WORKS WHERE OTHERS FAIL

Many sitemap generation tools require crawling entire websites, which can take hours and miss pages that aren't linked properly. This script takes a different approach: it works with URL lists you already have—whether from a links page, a CSV export, or any text document—and generates sitemaps instantly. It uses flexible URL detection that finds links in both anchor tags and plain text, making it compatible with a wide range of page formats. The script generates properly formatted XML sitemaps that comply with the sitemap protocol, including priority and changefreq tags, and HTML sitemaps that are ready for use as a user-facing site map. By using clipboard output rather than file download, it integrates seamlessly with your existing workflow—you can paste directly into your CMS, version control, or file system.

THE PANEL

The script uses BotGentz's BGPanel system, which provides a floating, draggable panel on the right side of your screen. Drag the panel by its header to reposition it anywhere on the page—the panel remembers its position per site and snaps to the nearest edge when released. Click the minimize button to collapse the panel to a small floating bubble; click the bubble to expand it back. Resize the panel vertically by dragging its bottom edge. Press the Escape key to close the panel entirely. All panel state (position, collapsed/expanded) is persisted locally using GM_setValue, so your preferences survive page reloads.

PLEASE NOTE

This userscript requires the free BotGentz browser extension—it is not a standalone application. The script generates sitemaps based on the URLs found on the current page; verify that the detected URLs are correct before generating. The script does not crawl websites or discover new URLs beyond those on the current page. XML sitemaps follow the sitemap protocol; verify the output against your search engine's requirements. This script does not store, transmit, or process any of your data outside your local browser. It does not access your password, hidden inputs, or file inputs. All URL extraction and sitemap generation occurs entirely within your browser.
