WHAT IT DOES

Checkr Web Status Tracker automatically scans Checkr background check status pages to extract comprehensive screening data including candidate name, report status (Clear, Pending, In Review, Consider, Complete), check type, submitted date, estimated completion date, and individual component results for each background check. Components include Criminal, Education, Employment, Motor Vehicle, Identity, Credit, Sex Offender, Global Watch, and References—each with its own status. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of all active screenings with color-coded status indicators—green for Clear/Complete, yellow for Pending, blue for In Review, and orange for Consider. A visual progress bar shows component completion percentage for each screening. Completed components are highlighted, and pending items are identified for attention. Summary statistics show total checks, clear/complete checks, and pending checks. This provides a complete, organized view of all background check statuses.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on checkr.com domain pages that contain background check status content—specifically pages with "/status", "/background-check", "/screening", or "/report" in the URL path, or pages that display background check status and component results. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The status tracker runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All screening data extraction, component analysis, and tracking preferences are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your background check data and tracking activity remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this status tracker, navigate to any Checkr background check status page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a summary with total checks, clear/complete checks, and pending checks. The "Screenings" section lists each background check with candidate name, status badge (color-coded), check type, submitted date, estimated completion date, and component results. Component tags show each component with its status color. A progress bar shows how many components are complete. A legend explains the color-coding for status types. The panel provides a complete overview of all background check statuses and component progress.

BACKGROUND CHECK DATA EXTRACTION AND COMPONENT TRACKING

The status tracker uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse screening data from Checkr pages. It first attempts to find structured screening elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "screening-item," "check-item," "status-item," and "background-item." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for screening-related patterns using pattern matching for terms like "candidate," "check," "screening," "status," "report," "clear," "pending," or "review." Candidate names are extracted through pattern matching for "candidate:" or "name:" labels. Status classification uses keyword detection for "Clear," "Complete," "Pending," "In Review," or "Consider." Component types are identified using a comprehensive list including Criminal, Education, Employment, Motor Vehicle, Identity, Credit, Sex Offender, Global Watch, and References, with each component's status determined through keyword detection for "Clear," "Complete," "Pending," "In Review," or "Consider." Component completion progress is calculated as the percentage of components marked as Complete.

THE PANEL

The status tracker panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Checkr status page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you track background checks. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the status tracker does not work standalone. Checkr occasionally updates its page layouts and background check presentation formats, which may temporarily affect screening data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts screening data from the visible page content; if status information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Status indicators and component progress bars are based on extracted data and are provided for informational purposes—always verify your actual background check status on the official Checkr platform. Component identification is based on keyword detection and may not capture all component types. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all screening data extraction, component analysis, progress tracking, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal background check tracking and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Checkr or its parent company.
