About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Credly Web Badge Collection Organizer automatically scans Credly badge collection and showcase pages to extract comprehensive badge data including badge name, issuing organization, issue date, expiration date, badge category, and sharing status (public/private). The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of your badge collection with total badges, number of unique issuers, and badges expiring soon. You can sort badges by recent date, name, or issuer, and the panel highlights recently earned badges and badges that are expiring within 30 days with a yellow alert. A sharing status icon shows whether each badge is public (🌐) or private (🔒). Categories are displayed as tags with badge counts. This provides a complete, organized view of your Credly badge collection and helps you manage your digital credentials effectively.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on credly.com domain pages that contain badge collection and showcase content—specifically pages with "/badges", "/collection", "/showcase", or "/profile" in the URL path, or pages that display badge listings and credential collections. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The badge collection organizer runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All badge data extraction, sorting, filtering, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your credential data and organization preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this badge organizer, navigate to any Credly badge collection or showcase page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a summary with total badges, issuers, and expiring soon count. The "Filter & Sort" section lets you sort badges by Recent, Name, or Issuer—click any option to reorder your collection. The "Badges" section lists each badge with its name, issuer, issue date, expiration date (with expiring soon alert), category, and sharing status. The "Categories" section shows all badge categories with counts. The panel provides a complete, organized view of your digital badge collection.

BADGE DATA EXTRACTION AND COLLECTION ORGANIZATION

The badge collection organizer uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse badge data from Credly pages. It first attempts to find structured badge elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "badge-item," "badge-card," "credential-item," and "collection-item." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for badge-related patterns using pattern matching for credential names, issuer labels, and date formats. Badge names are extracted from title elements or through pattern matching. Issuing organizations are extracted through pattern matching for "issued by" labels or element selectors. Issue dates are extracted through pattern matching for "issued" or "earned" labels with date formats. Expiration dates are extracted through pattern matching for "expires" or "valid until" labels. Badge categories are extracted from category elements or through pattern matching for "category" labels. Sharing status is determined through keyword detection for "shared" or "public." Expiring soon alerts are triggered when the expiration date is within 30 days. Sorting options (Recent, Name, Issuer) are applied to the badge list, and preferences are stored using GM_setValue.

THE PANEL

The badge collection organizer panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Credly badge page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you manage your collection. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and sorting preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the badge collection organizer does not work standalone. Credly occasionally updates its page layouts and badge presentation formats, which may temporarily affect badge data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts badge data from the visible page content; if badge information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Expiring soon alerts are based on extracted expiration dates and are provided as a reference—always verify your actual badge expiration dates on the official Credly platform. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all badge data extraction, sorting, filtering, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal credential management and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Credly or its parent company. Badge details and validity are subject to Credly's terms; always review your official Credly account for authoritative credential information.
