WHAT IT DOES

Cricut Design Space Web Project Organizer automatically scans your Cricut Design Space project pages and identifies every project element including cut layers, text elements, images, and all operation types (Cut, Draw, Score, Foil, Print then Cut, Engrave, Deboss). The tool extracts project metadata such as the project name, material requirements, and color information for each layer. A floating panel provides a collapsible project overview showing layer count, operation types breakdown, and a comprehensive material list. Each layer appears in the panel with a checkbox, allowing you to mark elements as completed as you work through your project. Progress is automatically saved per project URL, so you can track which layers have been cut, drawn, or processed across multiple sessions. Quick-access buttons provide a summary of operation types and progress statistics, helping you stay organized and efficient when working on complex Cricut projects with many layers and materials.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on cricut.com/design/* pages, specifically within the Cricut Design Space web application. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities within the complex Design Space interface. The project organizer runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All layer detection, project data extraction, and progress tracking occurs on your machine, ensuring your project data and Cricut account activity remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this project organizer, open any project in Cricut Design Space. Within 2-3 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the project name, layer count, and material requirements. The "Layers" section lists each project element with its operation type badge (Cut, Draw, Score, Foil, etc.) and layer name. As you work through your project, check the box next to each layer you complete—the progress counter updates immediately and your progress is automatically saved to your local storage. The panel shows how many layers are complete versus total layers, and displays a breakdown of operation types. Use "Reset Progress" to clear all completion data for the current project, or "Mark All Complete" to quickly finalize a finished project. The "Refresh Layers" button rescans the page if you've added or removed elements. Your progress persists across browser sessions, so you can return to complex projects days later and pick up exactly where you left off.

LAYER DETECTION MECHANISM

The project organizer uses a multi-strategy layer detection system specifically designed for Cricut Design Space's dynamic, React-based interface. It first attempts to locate layer elements using a comprehensive set of CSS selectors based on Design Space's typical DOM structure, including class names like "layer-item," "layer-row," "canvas-layer," and "element-item." When these selectors fail due to application updates, the tool falls back to scanning for data attributes such as "data-layer-id," "data-element-id," or "data-object-id" that Cricut uses internally to track design elements. Each detected layer is analyzed to determine its operation type through text scanning of the layer content, looking for operation indicators like "draw," "pen," "score," "foil," "print then cut," "engrave," and "deboss." The tool also extracts color information from layer text and material requirements from supply-related elements. This fallback approach ensures reliable layer detection even as Cricut updates its application interface over time.

THE PANEL

The project organizer panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Cricut Design Space interface. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you design. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, layer progress data, and settings are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the project organizer does not work standalone. Cricut Design Space is a complex web application that is updated frequently, which may temporarily affect layer detection accuracy. The tool extracts layer information from the visible page content; if Design Space loads elements asynchronously, some layers may not appear immediately. The project organizer does not modify your actual Cricut project data or affect your account; it only reads page content and stores progress locally. The "Refresh Layers" button may be needed after adding new elements to a project. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all progress information and settings are saved entirely within your browser using GM_setValue.
