About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool helps you track upcoming Crunchyroll simulcast episodes with live countdown timers. It scans simulcast and series pages for episode release dates and times, extracting show titles, episode numbers, and airing schedules. The panel displays a countdown for each upcoming episode, color-coded to show urgency—green for imminent releases, yellow for approaching, and gray for aired episodes. A summary shows total shows tracked, today's releases, and upcoming episodes. The script sends desktop notifications when an episode is about to air, with a user-configurable lead time (default 15 minutes). The countdown updates every second in real-time.

WHERE IT RUNS

The script activates on Crunchyroll pages (crunchyroll.com), including the simulcast schedule, series pages, season pages, and show listings. It automatically detects episode release data using multiple extraction strategies that work across different Crunchyroll layouts. The panel appears as a draggable overlay that stays accessible as you browse upcoming releases.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any Crunchyroll simulcast or series page. The panel will appear showing all detected shows with their next episode countdowns. Set the "Notify (min)" input to control how many minutes before airing you receive a notification (default 15 minutes). Toggle "Notify on/off" to enable or disable desktop notifications. Set the "Refresh (s)" input to control how often the script scans for new schedule data (default 60 seconds). Select your preferred timezone display (Local or UTC). The "Scan" button manually refreshes the data, and "Reset Notifications" clears all notification flags so you can test reminders. The countdowns update automatically every second.

THE TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The script employs a multi-strategy DOM extraction approach for Crunchyroll's schedule interface. It first attempts structured selectors targeting known class names like .simulcast-item, .series-item, and .seasonal-item, then falls back to heuristic detection of show containers based on content patterns including "Episode", "Simulcast", and "Airing". Release date extraction uses multiple regex patterns to capture dates and times in various formats (MM/DD/YYYY with time, standalone dates, relative time phrases like "X minutes until"). The countdown timer uses setInterval with 1-second granularity, computing the difference between the current time and each episode's release date. The notification system uses GM_notification with a storage-based deduplication system using GM_setValue to prevent repeated reminders per show. The notification flag is automatically cleared when the lead time is exceeded or after the episode airs. The auto-refresh uses setInterval with a user-configurable interval, and a MutationObserver watches for page updates. All settings are persisted using GM_setValue.

THE PANEL

The panel is fully draggable by its header and remembers its position on the page across sessions. It can be collapsed to a small bubble using the minimize button, then restored by clicking the bubble. The panel resizes automatically to fit its content and can be closed with the Escape key or by clicking the close button. The panel's position and state persist globally, so it returns to the same location on subsequent visits.

PLEASE NOTE

Requires the free BotGentz extension to run. Crunchyroll may update its site structure, which could affect the script's ability to detect schedule data — updates will be released as needed. All schedule data is read from the page and displayed locally; nothing is transmitted externally. This tool is for informational purposes only and does not replace official Crunchyroll notifications. The script does not modify your Crunchyroll account or viewing preferences in any way. Release dates are extracted from visible page content and may not reflect real-time changes or regional variations. Always verify airing times with the official Crunchyroll platform.
