Discover Web Cashback Category Tracker reads Discover cashback bonus categories and spending progress from your Discover account and displays a floating cashback category tracker showing the current quarter's bonus categories. The badge shows the active bonus category (e.g., Gas Stations, Restaurants, Grocery Stores), your spending progress toward the maximum bonus ($1,500), and a progress bar showing completion percentage. A status indicator shows whether the category is Active, Needs Activation, or Activated. The extension tracks category history per quarter, storing each category change with a timestamp. When a category needs activation, a desktop notification is triggered. The panel displays the current category, spending progress, activation status, deadline, and other available categories.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all Discover pages at discover.com and its subdomains, specifically on account pages where cashback bonus categories are displayed. It runs on the main account page, the cashback bonus page, the rewards dashboard, and any page displaying category information. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Discover's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to discover.com and log in to your account. The extension automatically creates a floating cashback category tracker badge on the page. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings panel. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the badge visibility. The badge shows your current bonus category, spending progress, and activation status. Use the "Refresh" button to manually update the badge with the latest category information. The "Show spending progress" toggle controls whether the spending progress appears. The "Activation reminders" toggle controls desktop notifications when categories need activation. Adjust the overlay transparency using the opacity dropdown (70%, 82%, 92%, or 100%). Drag the badge by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the badge with the × button.

CASHBACK CATEGORY EXTRACTION WITH SPENDING PROGRESS AND STATUS DETECTION

Unlike simple category display tools, this extension uses a multi-selector extraction engine to find cashback categories, spending progress, and activation status from Discover's varying page structures. It searches for categories using multiple selector patterns (.cashback-category, .bonus-category, .category-item) and falls back to text parsing. Spending progress is extracted from progress selectors, supporting both "X / Y" format and single value format. The maximum bonus is typically $1,500 for Discover's 5% cashback categories. Activation status is detected using keyword matching (active, activated, enrolled, activate, enroll, pending). Per-quarter category history is stored as a key-value object where keys are quarter strings and values are arrays of category records with timestamps, limited to 20 entries per quarter. Activation notifications trigger when a category needs activation, with a once-per-day cooldown.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on discover.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, opacity, spending progress visibility, notification preference, and per-quarter category history, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Discover's website changes periodically, and category element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting category data until an update is released. The extension stores your overlay position, size, opacity, visibility, spending progress preference, notification preference, and per-quarter category history locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. Category history is stored as a key-value object where keys are quarter strings and values are arrays of category records. The categories displayed are read from the page—the extension does not access Discover's internal category data. Always verify with Discover directly for the most accurate cashback bonus information. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for discover.com.
