Fantastical Web Time Zone Overlay

WHAT IT DOES

Fantastical Web Time Zone Overlay scans the current page for Fantastical web calendar events, extracting event titles, times, dates, attendees, and timezone information from Fantastical calendar views. The floating panel shows event times converted to multiple timezones with color-coded timezone indicators and visual timezone comparison. A summary of event timing across timezones highlights conflicts and offers quick timezone conversion for any event. Add custom timezones, set a home timezone, and export timezone data as CSV or text. Events that fall outside working hours for selected timezones are highlighted.

WHERE IT RUNS

Works on Fantastical web calendar pages, including month, week, and day views. The script detects calendar events using Fantastical-specific selectors and extracts event metadata. It works best on Fantastical web calendar pages.

HOW TO USE

The panel displays all detected events with their titles, times, and timezone conversions. Each event shows times in all configured timezones with color coding (green for working hours, red for outside working hours). Add custom timezones using the input field, and set your home timezone for reference. Click "Scan Events" to refresh the list. Export timezone data as text for scheduling or coordination. The panel automatically highlights events that fall outside working hours for each timezone.

MECHANISM — EVENT EXTRACTION WITH TIMEZONE CONVERSION

The script detects Fantastical events by finding event containers using selectors (.fc-event, .calendar-event). From each container, it extracts the event title, start time, end time, and attendees using targeted sub-selectors. Timezone conversion is performed using the browser's Intl.DateTimeFormat API, converting each event's start time to all configured timezones. Working hours are evaluated for each timezone (default 9 AM to 5 PM), and events outside these hours are marked with a red indicator. The home timezone is used as a reference, and custom timezones can be added via the panel. All extraction and conversion runs client-side with no network calls.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per domain. Click the minimize button to collapse it to a small bubble, or press Escape to hide it. The panel automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and can be resized to show more content. All settings, including timezone lists and working hours, are saved per domain. The panel integrates smoothly with any page layout using the BGPanel framework, maintaining clean separation from page content.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It does not send any data to external servers; all extracted event data, timezone preferences, and settings remain entirely local to your browser using GM_setValue. The script never reads password fields, hidden inputs, or file inputs. It stores only event titles, times, attendees, and timezone preferences from publicly visible Fantastical page content. Event detection depends on the page structure; if events are not detected, use the "Scan Events" button to refresh extraction. The script works on Fantastical pages and detects pages by hostname. Timezone conversion uses browser APIs and may be affected by system timezone settings. Data persists across browser sessions and is isolated per browser profile.
