The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of newsletter performance with a color-coded open rate badge—green for 50%+, yellow for 35-49%, orange for 20-34%, and red for below 20%. Engagement trend is shown with an icon and color-coded indicator. Stats including click rate, total clicks, and subscriber count are displayed with color-coded values. Performance history shows open rate changes over time with up/down indicators. This provides a complete, visual overview of your Ghost newsletter performance.

This extension operates exclusively on ghost.org domain pages that contain newsletter dashboard and analytics content—specifically pages with "/newsletter", "/analytics", "/dashboard", or "/stats" in the URL path, or pages that display newsletter performance statistics and engagement data. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The open rate badge runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All newsletter data extraction, performance analysis, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your analytics data and tracking preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this open rate badge, navigate to any Ghost newsletter dashboard or analytics page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the newsletter name. The "Open Rate" section shows the open rate percentage in a circular badge with color-coded indicator, along with total opens and sent count. The "Engagement" section shows the engagement trend with an icon and color-coded indicator. The "Stats" section displays click rate, total clicks, and subscriber count with color-coded values. The "History" section shows open rate changes over time. The panel provides a complete, visual overview of your newsletter performance.

NEWSLETTER DATA EXTRACTION AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

The open rate badge uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse newsletter data from Ghost pages. It first attempts to find structured analytics elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including newsletter statistics containers, analytics elements, and performance indicators. When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for newsletter-related patterns using pattern matching for rates, counts, and trend labels. Open rates are extracted through pattern matching for percentage values with "open rate" labels. Click rates are extracted through pattern matching for percentage values with "click rate" labels. Total opens are extracted through pattern matching for numeric values with "opens" labels. Total clicks are extracted through pattern matching for numeric values with "clicks" labels. Subscriber counts are extracted through pattern matching for numeric values with "subscribers" or "members" labels. Sent counts are extracted through pattern matching for numeric values with "sent" labels. Engagement trend is determined based on open rate thresholds: 50%+ maps to Excellent, 35-49% to Good, 20-34% to Average, and below 20% to Needs Improvement. Performance history is extracted from page text showing rate changes over time. All data is presented in a clean, organized panel with color-coded performance indicators.

THE PANEL

The open rate badge panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Ghost analytics page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you track your newsletter performance. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and performance tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the open rate badge does not work standalone. Ghost occasionally updates its page layouts and analytics presentation formats, which may temporarily affect newsletter data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts newsletter data from the visible page content; if analytics information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Engagement trend classification is based on open rate thresholds and is provided as a reference—actual engagement may vary. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all newsletter data extraction, performance analysis, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser.
