About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool helps you import an existing wallet into MetaMask by generating the correct import file format that MetaMask accepts. It supports three import methods: private key (64 hex characters), seed phrase (12-24 words), and JSON keystore (with password). The tool processes your credentials entirely in your browser, validates the format, and generates a .json file that can be directly imported into MetaMask using its "Import from file" feature. No data is ever sent to any server — all processing happens locally.

HOW TO USE

Select your import method using the tabs: Private Key, Seed Phrase, or JSON Keystore. Enter your credentials in the corresponding input field. For private key, paste the 64-character hex string (with or without "0x" prefix). For seed phrase, enter the words separated by spaces. For JSON keystore, paste the entire JSON contents and enter the password. Click "Generate Import File" to validate and create the import file. The tool will display the file content and provide a download button. Save the .json file, then open MetaMask, click your account icon, select "Import wallet," choose "Import from file," and select the downloaded file.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

This is a purely client-side utility. When you submit your credentials, the tool validates the format using regular expressions and structural checks. For private keys, it verifies that the input is exactly 64 hexadecimal characters after stripping the "0x" prefix. For seed phrases, it splits the input by whitespace and validates that the word count matches MetaMask's expected lengths (12, 15, 18, 21, or 24 words). For JSON keystores, it parses the JSON and checks for the required "address" and "crypto" fields. The tool then structures the data into a JSON format that matches MetaMask's import file specification and generates a downloadable .json file. The browser's Blob API is used to create the file download without any server interaction.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify the authenticity or origin of the imported private key or seed phrase. It cannot determine whether the wallet you are importing has ever been compromised, exposed, or used in malicious activity. It cannot recover lost funds or bypass MetaMask's built-in security mechanisms. It cannot access or modify any existing MetaMask wallets in your browser. The tool does not validate the balance, transaction history, or legitimacy of the wallet being imported. It cannot tell you whether the credentials you enter are correct for any specific wallet address. It does not provide any guarantee that the imported wallet will successfully connect to any particular dApp or network. The tool does not check whether the private key or seed phrase corresponds to any known blockchain address.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool is intended for EVM-compatible wallets only (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, etc.). Always be extremely cautious when handling private keys and seed phrases — never share them with anyone. The generated import file contains sensitive information and should be stored securely. Delete the file after import if you no longer need it. This tool does not store or transmit any data; however, you are responsible for the security of your own credentials. MetaMask import procedures may vary by version — refer to MetaMask's official documentation for the current import workflow.
