WHAT IT DOES

LegalZoom Web Document Status Overlay automatically scans LegalZoom document status and order tracking pages to extract comprehensive document data including document name, document type (Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, Living Will, Health Care Proxy, Guardianship, Article of Incorporation, Trademark, etc.), status (Complete, Filed, In Progress, In Review, Draft, Pending), order date, estimated completion date, and current step. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of all active documents with color-coded status indicators—green for Complete/Filed, blue for In Progress, yellow for In Review/Pending, and gray for Draft. A visual timeline of document progress shows your current position in the workflow. Documents that are complete or need attention are highlighted for easy identification. Summary statistics show total documents, complete documents, and in-progress documents. This provides a complete, organized view of all your LegalZoom document statuses.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on legalzoom.com domain pages that contain document status and order tracking content—specifically pages with "/document", "/order", "/status", or "/track" in the URL path, or pages that display document tracking and order status information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The document status overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All document data extraction, status analysis, and tracking preferences are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your document data and tracking activity remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this document status overlay, navigate to any LegalZoom document status or order tracking page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a summary with total documents, complete documents, and in-progress documents. The "Documents" section lists each document with its name, type icon, status badge (color-coded), order date, estimated completion date, and current step. A progress bar shows how far along each document is in the workflow. A legend explains the color-coding for each status. The panel provides a complete overview of your document statuses and helps you track progress across multiple documents.

DOCUMENT STATUS EXTRACTION AND PROGRESS TRACKING

The document status overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse document data from LegalZoom pages. It first attempts to find structured document elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "document-item," "order-item," "status-item," and "document-card." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for document-related patterns using pattern matching for terms like "document," "order," "status," "tracking," "progress," "filed," or "complete." Document types are classified using a comprehensive keyword list including Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, Living Will, Health Care Proxy, Guardianship, Article of Incorporation, Bylaws, Operating Agreement, Trademark, Copyright, Patent, Lease, Contract, and NDA. Status classification uses keyword detection for "Complete," "Completed," "Filed," "Review," "Draft," "Pending," or "In Progress." Order dates and estimated completion dates are extracted through pattern matching for date formats. Current steps are extracted through pattern matching for "step," "stage," or "status" labels. Progress bars are calculated based on the document's status relative to a standard workflow.

THE PANEL

The document status overlay panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the LegalZoom document page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you track your documents. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and document tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the document status overlay does not work standalone. LegalZoom occasionally updates its page layouts and document presentation formats, which may temporarily affect document data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts document data from the visible page content; if document status information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Status indicators and progress bars are based on extracted data and are provided for informational purposes—always verify your actual document status on the official LegalZoom platform. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all document data extraction, status analysis, progress tracking, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser.
