About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool transforms MUBI curated lists into an organized, searchable reference. It extracts film titles, directors, years, countries, runtimes, ratings, and watchlist status from the page. The panel provides sorting controls (by title, director, year, rating) and filtering options (by director, country, year range) to help you navigate large lists. One-click "Add to Watchlist" buttons let you track films you want to see, with status indicators showing which films are already added. The script remembers your watchlist additions locally. Export the curated list as formatted text or JSON to your clipboard for personal reference or sharing. A summary shows total films, filtered count, and average rating.

WHERE IT RUNS

The script activates on MUBI pages (mubi.com), including curated list pages, film lists, and collection pages. It automatically detects film entries using multiple extraction strategies that work across different MUBI layouts. The panel appears as a draggable overlay that stays accessible as you browse curated selections.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any MUBI curated list page. The panel will appear showing all films with their details. Use the filter inputs to narrow by director, country, or year range—click "Apply Filters" to update the view. Use the "Sort" dropdown to order films by title, director, year, or rating. Select your preferred rating display (MUBI or IMDb) using the rating system dropdown. Click the "Watch" button on any film to add it to your local watchlist tracking—the button turns green with "✓ Added" and the script remembers this across sessions. Use "Export Text" to copy the full list as formatted text, or "Export JSON" for structured data. The "Scan" button manually refreshes the list.

THE TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The script employs a multi-strategy DOM extraction approach for MUBI's film list interface. It first attempts structured selectors targeting known class names like .film-item, .film-card, and .list-item, then falls back to heuristic detection of film containers based on content patterns including director indicators ("dir.", "director"), year patterns (19xx/20xx), and country codes. Title extraction prioritizes dedicated title elements and falls back to parsing the first non-numeric text line. Director extraction uses both dedicated elements and regex patterns for "directed by" text. Year extraction captures four-digit year patterns. Rating extraction captures both "/10" and star-based ratings. Watchlist status is detected from text indicators ("in watchlist", "on watchlist") and also tracked locally using GM_setValue with a per-film key derived from the title. Sorting and filtering are applied client-side on the extracted dataset using JavaScript's sort and filter methods. The export function formats the data as plain text or JSON and uses GM_setClipboard to copy it. All settings are persisted using GM_setValue.

THE PANEL

The panel is fully draggable by its header and remembers its position on the page across sessions. It can be collapsed to a small bubble using the minimize button, then restored by clicking the bubble. The panel resizes automatically to fit its content and can be closed with the Escape key or by clicking the close button. The panel's position and state persist globally, so it returns to the same location on subsequent visits.

PLEASE NOTE

Requires the free BotGentz extension to run. MUBI may update its site structure, which could affect the script's ability to detect film data — updates will be released as needed. All film data is read from the page and displayed locally; nothing is transmitted externally. Watchlist tracking is stored locally in your browser and is separate from your official MUBI watchlist. This tool is for informational purposes only and does not modify your MUBI account. The script reads film details displayed on the page for convenience and does not access any data beyond what is visibly presented. Export functionality copies data to your clipboard only—no data is sent externally.
