About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool enables you to restake native ETH with Renzo Protocol, a leading liquid restaking platform built on EigenLayer. It reads your current ETH balance on Ethereum Mainnet, the Renzo restaking contract details, and the current gas price to provide an accurate cost estimate before you commit. The tool then constructs and submits a transaction to the Renzo Protocol contract, depositing your specified amount of ETH and receiving ezETH (Renzo's liquid restaking token) in return.

Renzo Protocol simplifies the EigenLayer restaking experience by abstracting the complexity of managing multiple AVSs (Actively Validated Services) and restaking strategies. ezETH represents your restaked ETH position and automatically accrues rewards from EigenLayer AVSs, while remaining fully liquid and composable with DeFi applications. This allows you to earn restaking yields without sacrificing the ability to use your assets in other DeFi protocols.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using the "connect" button. Ensure you are connected to Ethereum Mainnet (chain ID 1) — the tool will display your current chain ID, ETH balance, and any existing ezETH balance. Enter the amount of ETH you wish to restake in the input field. The tool will display the restaking contract address and estimate the gas cost for the deposit transaction.

Review the restake summary, then click "restake via Renzo Protocol" to sign and submit the transaction through your wallet. The tool will wait for confirmation and display the transaction details on Etherscan. After the transaction is confirmed, you will receive ezETH in your wallet representing your restaked ETH position. Your ezETH balance will automatically accrue restaking rewards from EigenLayer AVSs over time, and you can monitor it through the tool's balance display. ezETH can be used across the DeFi ecosystem, including lending platforms, liquidity pools, and as collateral for borrowing.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM — RENZO LIQUID RESTAKING

The tool interacts with the Renzo Protocol ezETH contract, which implements the depositETH() function. This function accepts ETH as value and handles the underlying mechanics of depositing ETH into EigenLayer through Renzo's restaking vaults and minting ezETH tokens in return. When you call depositETH(), the Renzo contract forwards your ETH to EigenLayer's restaking infrastructure, where it is allocated across a diversified portfolio of Actively Validated Services (AVSs) managed by Renzo's strategy managers.

In return for your deposit, the contract mints ezETH tokens at a rate determined by the current exchange rate between ETH and ezETH. This exchange rate increases over time as restaking rewards are accrued by the AVSs securing EigenLayer. ezETH is an ERC-20 token that represents your claim on the underlying restaked ETH plus accumulated rewards. Unlike rebasing tokens, ezETH is a value-accruing token — the amount of ezETH you hold stays constant, but its value in ETH increases over time. This makes ezETH particularly suitable for DeFi applications where token balance stability is important. Renzo's strategy managers dynamically allocate restaked ETH across AVSs based on risk and reward profiles, optimizing yields while managing slashing risks. The withdrawal process requires burning ezETH and going through EigenLayer's withdrawal queue, which involves a waiting period and is subject to network conditions.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot estimate exact gas costs without a live RPC call, and gas prices on Ethereum Mainnet may change between quoting and execution. It cannot guarantee yield rates or APR, as these depend on EigenLayer AVS performance, restaking rewards, and Renzo's strategy allocation. The tool cannot verify the restaking contract address is correct beyond the pre-configured mapping, and if the mapping becomes outdated, the transaction could fail or be sent to the wrong contract. It cannot cancel a transaction once submitted, and if the transaction fails due to gas issues or contract errors, you may still pay gas fees. The tool cannot interact with non-Ethereum chains or provide immediate withdrawal functionality — withdrawals require burning ezETH and going through EigenLayer's withdrawal queue, which can take several days. The tool cannot handle restaking of tokens other than native ETH.

PLEASE NOTE — ETHEREUM MAINNET ONLY

This tool works exclusively on Ethereum Mainnet (chain ID 1). You must be connected to Ethereum Mainnet to use this tool. It does not support other networks or layer 2 solutions. The tool only restakes native ETH and returns ezETH — it does not support other assets. ezETH is a value-accruing liquid restaking token that appreciates against ETH over time through EigenLayer restaking rewards. It also carries the risks of the underlying restaking protocol, including slashing risks from AVS misbehavior. ezETH's value is generally pegged to ETH but may trade at a discount in volatile markets. Renzo's strategy managers actively manage AVS allocations, which may affect yield and risk profiles. Always verify the restaking contract address before submitting a transaction. This tool provides a simple deposit interface; withdrawals are not supported and must be performed through Renzo's official mechanisms.
