About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Sallie Mae Web Payment Reminder automatically scans Sallie Mae account and payment pages to extract key payment information including payment due date, payment amount, loan balance, interest rate, autopay enrollment status, and loan status. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a payment reminder with a countdown to the next due date—color-coded green for 7+ days, yellow for 3-6 days, and red for 2 days or less. The panel highlights the upcoming payment due date and amount prominently. A quick summary shows loan status and autopay enrollment with checkmark indicators. Recent payment history is displayed when available. You can set custom payment reminders using a text input field, and your reminder is saved across sessions. The panel provides a complete, at-a-glance overview of your loan payment obligations.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on salliemae.com domain pages that contain account and payment content—specifically pages with "/account", "/payment", or "/dashboard" in the URL path, or pages that display loan payment details and account summaries. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The payment reminder runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All payment data extraction, countdown calculation, and reminder preferences are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your financial data and payment preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this payment reminder, navigate to any Sallie Mae account or payment page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying your payment reminder. The "Payment Reminder" section shows the due date with a color-coded countdown of days remaining. The "Payment Details" section displays the payment amount, loan balance, interest rate (color-coded by rate level), autopay status with checkmark, and loan status. The "Recent Payments" section shows your last few payments with dates and amounts. The "Reminder Settings" section includes a text input where you can set a custom reminder note—enter your reminder and it is saved automatically. A "Add to Calendar" button copies payment details to your clipboard for easy calendar entry. The panel helps you stay on top of your loan payments.

PAYMENT DATA EXTRACTION AND DUE DATE COUNTDOWN

The payment reminder uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse payment data from Sallie Mae pages. It first attempts to find structured payment elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including account summary, payment details, and dashboard elements. When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for payment-related patterns using pattern matching for terms like "due date," "payment amount," "loan balance," "interest rate," and "autopay." The due date is extracted through pattern matching for date formats, and the countdown is calculated by comparing the due date to the current date. Payment amounts, loan balances, and interest rates are extracted through pattern matching for dollar amounts and percentages. Autopay status is determined through keyword detection for "autopay," "auto-pay," "enrolled," or "active." Payment history is extracted by scanning for date and amount patterns in chronological order. Custom reminders are stored using GM_setValue and persist across sessions.

THE PANEL

The payment reminder panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Sallie Mae account page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you view your account. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and custom reminder preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the payment reminder does not work standalone. Sallie Mae occasionally updates its page layouts and account presentation formats, which may temporarily affect payment data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts payment data from the visible page content; if account data is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. The due date countdown is based on the extracted due date and is provided for informational purposes—always verify your actual due date and payment amount on the official Sallie Mae website. Custom reminders are stored locally and are for personal reference only—they do not affect your Sallie Mae account. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all payment data extraction, countdown calculations, reminder settings, and preferences are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal financial tracking and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sallie Mae or its parent company. Loan payments are significant financial obligations; always review your official Sallie Mae account statements and contact Sallie Mae directly for authoritative payment information.
