WHAT IT DOES

SeedInvest Web Portfolio Overlay automatically scans SeedInvest portfolio pages and extracts comprehensive investment data including company name, amount invested, valuation, investment type (Equity, Convertible Note, SAFE, Debt, Crowdfunding), status (Active, Exited, Sold, Failed, Closed), sector, and investment date. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a complete portfolio summary with total invested amount, number of companies, and number of sectors represented. A sector breakdown shows allocation by sector with percentages. A status breakdown shows the distribution of investments across different statuses with color-coded tags. You can filter investments by status using clickable filter tags—click a status to show or hide investments in that category, and your filter preferences are saved across sessions. Each investment entry shows company name, amount, type, status, sector, valuation, and date for quick reference.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on seedinvest.com domain pages that contain portfolio content—specifically pages with "/portfolio", "/investments", or "/account" in the URL path, or pages that display investment listings and portfolio data. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The portfolio overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All investment data extraction, sector analysis, and filter preferences are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your portfolio data and investment activity remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this portfolio overlay, navigate to any SeedInvest portfolio page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a summary with total invested, number of companies, and number of sectors. The "Sector Breakdown" section shows allocation by sector with counts and percentages. The "Status" section shows distribution across investment statuses with color-coded tags. The "Investments" section lists each investment with company name, amount, type, status, sector, valuation, and date. The "Filters" section lets you click on status tags to show or hide specific investment statuses—your preferences are saved automatically. The panel provides a complete, organized view of your investment portfolio.

INVESTMENT DATA EXTRACTION AND SECTOR ANALYSIS

The portfolio overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse investment data from SeedInvest pages. It first attempts to find structured investment elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "investment-item," "investment-card," "portfolio-item," and "holding-item." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to scanning page content for investment-like text patterns, looking for elements that contain company names, dollar amounts, and investment-related keywords. For each detected investment, the tool extracts the company name through element selection or pattern matching for capitalized company names, amount invested through pattern matching for dollar values, valuation through pattern matching for "valuation:" labels, investment type through keyword detection for "Convertible," "SAFE," "Debt," or "Crowdfunding," status through keyword detection for "Active," "Exited," "Sold," "Failed," or "Closed," sector through element selection or pattern matching for common sector keywords, and date through pattern matching for common date formats. The sector breakdown aggregates investments by sector with counts and percentages, and the status breakdown aggregates by status with color-coded visualization.

THE PANEL

The portfolio overlay panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the SeedInvest portfolio page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you review your portfolio. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and filter preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the portfolio overlay does not work standalone. SeedInvest occasionally updates its page layouts and portfolio presentation formats, which may temporarily affect data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts investment data from the visible page content; if portfolio data is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Filter preferences are stored locally and are for your personal reference only—they do not affect your SeedInvest account. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all investment data extraction, sector analysis, filter preferences, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser.
