WHAT IT DOES

Tutoring Marketplace Session Reminder helps tutors and students stay on top of their upcoming sessions by adding visual reminders and countdown timers directly to booking pages. The script automatically scans your dashboard for upcoming tutoring sessions, extracts session dates and times, student names, subjects, and statuses, then applies color-coded urgency badges that let you instantly see which sessions need attention. Green badges indicate sessions more than 24 hours away, yellow for 12-24 hours, orange for 3-12 hours, and urgent red for sessions starting within 3 hours. Each session card also displays a live countdown timer that updates in real-time, showing exactly how much time remains until the session begins. The script even scans your messages and adds reminder badges to conversations that mention upcoming sessions, and includes a one-click calendar export feature to add sessions to your Google Calendar.

This script operates on all major tutoring marketplace platforms including Wyzant, Tutor.com, Varsity Tutors, Chegg, Skooli, and Preply. It works on dashboard pages, booking management views, session lists, calendar views, and individual session detail pages. The script automatically detects which platform you're on and adapts its extraction logic to match the site's specific layout.

HOW TO USE

After installing through the BotGentz extension, simply navigate to your tutoring dashboard or session management page. The script automatically scans all visible sessions and applies reminder badges and countdown timers. Use the configuration panel to customize your experience: toggle the time badge on or off, enable or disable countdown timers, control color-coding by urgency, and configure notification preferences. Set the number of hours before a session starts to receive browser notifications—you'll be alerted when sessions are approaching so you can prepare materials, log in early, or send pre-session messages. The panel also includes a manual refresh button to re-scan the page after making changes.

CROSS-PLATFORM ADAPTIVE PARSING ENGINE

This script implements a platform-agnostic extraction engine that adapts to the unique HTML structures of each tutoring marketplace. Rather than using a single rigid selector, the engine maintains a cascading selector strategy for each supported site, with fallback patterns for generic card elements. It detects the current domain and applies the appropriate selector set, then falls back to broader patterns if specific selectors fail. The date parser handles multiple formats—relative times like "in 2 hours," absolute times like "3:00 PM EST," and combined date-time strings like "Jan 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM." This multi-platform support ensures the script works across all major tutoring services without requiring per-site customization.

THE PANEL

The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including badge visibility, countdown preferences, notification timing, and auto-refresh interval—are persisted across sessions.
