Universal Pro-Con List Generator Overlay helps you make informed decisions by creating structured pro-con lists for multiple options simultaneously. Add any number of options, list pros and cons for each, assign importance weights, and the tool automatically calculates net benefit scores. Results are displayed in a ranked list showing which option comes out on top. The overlay supports multiple lists, so you can maintain separate comparisons for different decisions. Export your data as JSON for backup or sharing, import saved data, and copy results as formatted text for use in documents or emails.

HOW TO USE

A floating panel appears in the corner of your screen. Create a new list by clicking "+ New" and entering a name. Add options (e.g., "Laptop A", "Laptop B", "Laptop C") and for each option, add pros and cons individually. Assign a weight from 1-5 to each option to reflect its importance in your decision (higher weight = more impact on the final score). The results section updates in real-time, showing a ranked list of options with their net scores, and highlights the best choice with a trophy icon. Export your list as JSON for safekeeping, or copy the results to share with others.

MECHANISM — WEIGHTED NET SCORE CALCULATION

The script calculates each option's net score using the formula: Net Score = (Number of Pros - Number of Cons) × Weight. This simple but effective approach allows users to quantify the balance of advantages versus disadvantages for each option. The weight multiplier lets users prioritize options that carry more significance in their decision. Results are sorted from highest to lowest net score, clearly showing which option is most favorable. The real-time calculation updates as soon as you add or remove any pro, con, or adjust the weight, providing immediate feedback for iterative decision-making.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per domain. Click the minimize button to collapse it to a small bubble, or press Escape to hide it. The panel automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and can be resized to show more content. All settings, including multiple lists, options, pros, cons, and weights, are saved per domain. The panel integrates smoothly with any page layout using the BGPanel framework, maintaining clean separation from page content.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It does not send any data to external servers; all decision data, lists, options, pros, cons, and weights remain entirely local to your browser using GM_setValue. The script never reads password fields, hidden inputs, or file inputs. It stores only your pro-con list data. You can export your data as JSON for backup or transfer between devices. Data persists across browser sessions and is isolated per browser profile.
