WHAT IT DOES

Weekly Review Template Injector helps you write consistent and comprehensive weekly reviews by injecting structured templates directly into any text area or input field. The script detects text areas and input fields on any webpage and adds a floating button (or keyboard shortcut) that inserts a weekly review template at the cursor position. Templates include sections for accomplishments, challenges, next week's goals, learnings, and metrics. Three template formats are available: Standard, Detailed, and Metrics-focused (with goal completion tracking). You can choose between Markdown and plain text output formats. A quick-fill menu provides common weekly review responses for faster completion. Template preferences are saved locally, and a preview shows the template before insertion. A history of recent weekly reviews is maintained for quick reference and copying. The built-in weekly goals tracker lets you set goals for the week, mark them as complete, and track your completion progress.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs on every website (matching all URLs), injecting weekly review templates into any text field across the entire web. It works on Slack, Teams, email clients, project management tools, note-taking apps, and any page with text areas or input fields. The script automatically adapts to each page and handles dynamically loaded fields.

HOW TO USE

After installing through the BotGentz extension, navigate to any page with a text area. Click into the text field—a floating "Weekly Review" button appears next to it. Click the button to insert the template at your cursor position, or use the keyboard shortcut (Alt+W by default). Use the configuration panel to customize your experience: choose your template format (Standard, Detailed, or Metrics), select your output format (Markdown or Plain text), toggle week date range inclusion on or off, toggle metrics section on or off, show or hide the floating button, enable or disable auto-fill on focus, and set your keyboard shortcut. The panel displays a preview of the template before you insert it. The weekly goals tracker allows you to add goals for the week and click them to mark as complete or incomplete.

TEXT FIELD DETECTION WITH CURSOR-AWARE TEMPLATE INSERTION AND GOAL TRACKING

This script implements a text field detection engine using CSS selectors for textarea and input elements, with cursor position detection for precise template insertion. The template rendering engine supports three formats with dynamic content (week date range, metrics) and two output formats (Markdown and plain text). The goal tracking system stores weekly goals with completion status using GM_setValue, enabling progress tracking across sessions. The history storage system maintains recent weekly reviews with a maximum of 20 entries. The floating button uses position tracking with viewport boundary detection to remain visible near the active field. Template insertion uses native value setters with event dispatching for React/Vue compatibility.

THE PANEL

The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including template format, output format, date range inclusion, metrics inclusion, button visibility, auto-fill, and keyboard shortcut—are persisted across sessions.

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. The script runs on all websites and detects text fields to insert templates. It does not capture, store, or transmit any personal information. All template preferences, review history, and goal data are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and never transmitted to external servers. The script does not automatically submit or send reviews—it only inserts the template into the text field for you to review and edit before sending.
