About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Xfinity Web Equipment Return Reminder reads equipment rental status and return deadlines from your Xfinity account and displays a floating equipment return reminder showing your equipment list, return due dates, and days remaining. The badge shows the number of pending returns out of total equipment, a days-remaining counter, and a list of item names. Color coding highlights urgent returns—red when items are due within 7 days. The extension tracks return status per equipment item, storing each status change with a timestamp. When equipment is due soon, a desktop notification is triggered. The panel displays your pending items, days remaining, urgent count, and return history.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all Xfinity pages at xfinity.com and its subdomains, specifically on account pages where equipment rental and return information are displayed. It runs on the main account page, the equipment page, the return page, and any page displaying rental information. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Xfinity's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to xfinity.com and log in to your account. The extension automatically creates a floating equipment return reminder badge on the page. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings panel. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the badge visibility. The badge shows your pending returns, days remaining, and urgent items. Use the "Refresh" button to manually update the badge with the latest equipment information. The "Show returned equipment" toggle controls whether returned items appear in the details. The "Deadline notifications" toggle controls desktop notifications when items are due soon. Adjust the overlay transparency using the opacity dropdown (70%, 82%, 92%, or 100%). Drag the badge by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the badge with the × button.

EQUIPMENT RETURN EXTRACTION WITH DEADLINE TRACKING AND URGENT DETECTION

Unlike simple status display tools, this extension uses a multi-selector extraction engine to find equipment items, return status, and due dates from Xfinity's varying page structures. It searches for equipment items using multiple selector patterns (.equipment-item, .device-item, .rental-item) and falls back to text parsing. Return status is detected using status elements, checkmark indicators, and keyword matching (returned, done, complete). Due dates are parsed from date-related elements using date parsing that handles multiple formats. The urgent detection algorithm identifies items due within 7 days and highlights them. Per-equipment return history is stored as a key-value object where keys are equipment IDs and values are arrays of status records with timestamps, limited to 20 entries per equipment. Deadline notifications trigger when items are due soon, with a once-per-day cooldown.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on xfinity.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, opacity, returned equipment visibility, notification preference, and return history, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Xfinity's website changes periodically, and equipment element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting equipment data until an update is released. The extension stores your overlay position, size, opacity, visibility, returned equipment preference, notification preference, and per-equipment return history locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. Return history is stored as a key-value object where keys are equipment IDs and values are arrays of status records. The equipment status displayed is read from the page—the extension does not access Xfinity's internal rental data. Always verify with Xfinity directly for the most accurate equipment return information. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for xfinity.com.
