About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Zapier Web Task History Badge automatically scans Zapier task history and activity pages to extract comprehensive task data including task status (success, error, skipped), task count, success rate, and recent activity. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of task history with color-coded indicators—green for success, red for errors, gray for skipped. Summary statistics show total tasks, success rate, and error count with color-coded values. Status breakdown displays success, error, and skipped counts with colored labels. Recent tasks show the last 5 task statuses with timestamps. A trend indicator shows overall automation performance as Excellent (90%+), Good (70%+), Average (50%+), or Needs Attention (below 50%). This provides a complete, organized view of your Zapier task history and automation performance.
WHERE IT RUNS
This extension operates exclusively on zapier.com domain pages that contain task history and activity content—specifically pages with "/zaps", "/tasks", "/history", or "/dashboard" in the URL path, or pages that display task history and automation activity. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The task history badge runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All task data extraction, success rate calculation, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your automation data and tracking preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.
HOW TO USE
After installing both BotGentz and this task history badge, navigate to any Zapier task history or activity page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the zap name and last updated time. The "Task Summary" section shows total tasks, success rate (color-coded), and error count. The "Status Breakdown" section displays success, error, and skipped counts. The "Recent Tasks" section lists the last 5 task statuses with timestamps. The "Trend" section shows overall automation performance with a color-coded indicator. The panel provides a complete, organized view of your task history and helps you monitor automation health.
TASK HISTORY DATA EXTRACTION AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
The task history badge uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse task data from Zapier pages. It first attempts to find structured task elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "task-item," "activity-item," "history-item," and "run-item." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for task-related patterns using pattern matching for status labels, counts, and timestamps. Total tasks are extracted through pattern matching for "total tasks" or "runs" labels with numeric values. Success counts are extracted through pattern matching for "success" or "successful" labels with numeric values. Error counts are extracted through pattern matching for "error," "failed," or "failure" labels with numeric values. Skipped counts are extracted through pattern matching for "skipped" labels with numeric values. Success rate is calculated as (success count / total tasks) × 100. Recent tasks are extracted from task containers or through pattern matching. Trend classification uses success rate thresholds: 90%+ maps to Excellent, 70-89% to Good, 50-69% to Average, and below 50% to Needs Attention. All data is presented in a clean, organized panel with color-coded indicators.
THE PANEL
The task history badge panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Zapier task page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you monitor automation performance. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and task tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.
PLEASE NOTE
This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the task history badge does not work standalone. Zapier occasionally updates its page layouts and task history presentation formats, which may temporarily affect task data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts task data from the visible page content; if task history is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Success rate calculations are based on extracted data and are provided as reference metrics. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all task data extraction, performance analysis, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal automation monitoring and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zapier or its parent company. Task history data is subject to Zapier's terms; always review your official Zapier account for authoritative task information.
