About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Zwift Web Event Calendar Overlay automatically scans Zwift event calendar pages and extracts comprehensive event data including event names, start times, durations, routes, distances, elevations, categories, and participant counts. The tool displays a floating overlay panel that presents upcoming events in a clean, filterable list format, making it easy to find events that match your preferences. You can filter events by category (A, B, C, D, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), by time range (morning, afternoon, evening), and by route. Quick-access "Join Event" buttons link directly to event registration or details pages, saving you from scrolling through the calendar manually. Events that match your preferred categories are highlighted for easy identification. A countdown timer at the top of the panel shows the next scheduled event, helping you plan your racing or training schedule. All filter preferences are saved automatically across sessions, so your customized view persists between visits.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on zwift.com domain pages that contain event calendar content—specifically pages with "/events" or "/calendar" in the URL path, or pages that display event listings and schedules. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The event calendar overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All event data extraction, filtering, and preference storage occurs on your machine, ensuring your event browsing activity remains private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this event calendar overlay, navigate to any Zwift event calendar page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the "Next Event" countdown at the top, followed by filter options. The "Filters" section provides dropdowns for category and time range selection—choose your preferences and the event list updates immediately. The "Events" section lists all filtered events with their name, category badge, start time, duration, distance, elevation, participant count, and route information. Click "Join Event" next to any event to open the registration page in a new tab. The panel shows statistics including the number of filtered and total events. Use the "Clear Filters" button to reset all filters and view all events. Your category and time range selections are saved automatically and persist across sessions.

EVENT DATA EXTRACTION AND FILTERING

The event calendar overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse event data from Zwift's calendar pages. It first attempts to find structured event elements using selectors based on Zwift's typical class naming patterns, including "event-item," "event-card," "calendar-event," and "event-row." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to scanning page elements that contain date or time attributes, as event listings typically include structured time information. For each detected event, the tool extracts the event name from title elements or heading text, start time through pattern matching for MM:SS AM/PM formats, duration through keyword detection for minutes or hours, route and distance through pattern matching for "route:" and distance units, category through keyword detection for A/B/C/D or skill level labels, and participant counts through pattern matching for rider numbers. The filtering system applies category and time range filters sequentially, with time filters using simple AM/PM detection for morning, afternoon, and evening groupings.

THE PANEL

The event calendar overlay panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Zwift page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you browse events. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, category filter preferences, and time range filter preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the event calendar overlay does not work standalone. Zwift occasionally updates its page layouts and event presentation formats, which may temporarily affect event extraction accuracy. The tool extracts event data from the visible page content; if the event calendar is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. The countdown timer shows the next event based on the first event with a time listed and is approximate. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all event data extraction, filtering, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal event planning assistance and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zwift or its parent company. Event times and availability are subject to change; always verify details on the official Zwift platform before joining events.
