AI Absence Policy Explainer
About this app
WHAT IT DOES
AI Absence Policy Explainer provides clear, plain-language answers to employee questions about absence policies. Ask a question about sick leave, vacation time, family leave, attendance rules, or any other absence policy — optionally include your company name or policy context — and the agent returns a structured explanation including: a plain-language overview that summarises the policy in simple terms, eligibility criteria that clarify who qualifies, required documentation to support the absence, notification procedures that explain how and when to report an absence, how the policy interacts with other leave policies (e.g., paid time off, short-term disability), and contact points for further questions. All output is capped at 1,024 tokens, so you get a focused, easy-to-understand answer — not a wall of jargon. Whether you're an employee seeking clarity or an HR professional needing to communicate policies consistently, this agent helps you provide accurate and accessible policy information.
HOW TO USE
Open the agent in any BotSurf frame. Enter your question about an absence policy (e.g., "How do I request sick leave?" or "How much vacation time do I get?"). Optionally, provide your company name or any specific policy context (e.g., "Acme Corp" or "Our company policy handbook section 3"). Click "Explain Policy" or press Ctrl+Enter. The agent generates a clear, structured explanation in the output panel, presented in a Q&A-style format. You can also click "Use the page selection" to grab highlighted text from a webpage — ideal if you have policy documents, handbooks, or intranet articles open in another tab. The panel remembers its position across sessions (drag to reposition, snap to edges, collapse with Escape), and you can clear inputs or output with one click. No configuration — just ask your question and get your answer.
WHAT IT SENDS
When you click "Explain Policy," the agent sends only your question and any optional context you provide — nothing more, nothing less. It does not send your browsing history, cookies, localStorage, page context, or any other data unless you explicitly paste or select it into the fields. If you use the "Use the page selection" button, the agent copies the selected text from the page into the input field, and that text is then sent exactly as if you had typed it. All transmissions occur over the BGAI bridge using the API key you have already provided to BotSurf; the agent itself does not store, cache, or log your input content. Usage logs record only the number of successful explanation requests for billing purposes — they do not retain any query or response text. Your questions and policy explanations remain private to your session.
SUBSCRIPTION
AI Absence Policy Explainer is priced at $19.99 per month, which includes a 7‑day free trial and 100 explanation generations per month. Unused runs do not roll over. Cancel anytime from your BotSurf account settings. The free trial begins automatically on first use, and you will not be charged until the trial period ends. If you exceed the monthly limit, additional requests will be blocked until the next billing cycle. Upgrade your plan or purchase extra runs through the BotSurf marketplace as needed. No hidden fees, and no automatic upgrades.
THE PANEL
The agent runs as a floating, draggable panel inside BotSurf. Drag the header to reposition it anywhere; it snaps to the nearest edge for a tidy workspace. Collapse it to a small bubble with the ✨ emoji by pressing Escape or clicking the collapse handle — the bubble stays accessible without taking up screen space. Expand it again by clicking the bubble. Panel position is persisted via BGAI.setState, so it returns to your preferred spot across sessions. The dark theme (#0f172a background, #38bdf8 accent) ensures readability in any lighting environment.
PLEASE NOTE
AI can make mistakes. Always verify explanations against your organisation's official policy documents. The agent provides general HR guidance and does not constitute professional legal advice — it is not a substitute for review by an HR professional or legal counsel, especially in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, or government. Ensure that all policy interpretations align with your organisation's actual policies and applicable employment laws. This tool is designed to provide general information and generate ideas, not as a final authority on policy interpretation. Always consult your HR department or employee handbook for definitive answers.
