AI Skills Gap Summariser
About this app
WHAT IT DOES
AI Skills Gap Summariser identifies and prioritises skill gaps within teams or departments. Provide a role or department name, a list of required skills for that role, and a summary of current team capabilities — and the agent returns a structured skills gap summary including: an overview of the current state that sets the context, a list of critical gaps highlighting where the team falls short, a prioritised summary of gaps by urgency (high, medium, low), recommended actions to address each gap (e.g., training, hiring, coaching), and a realistic timeline for closing gaps. All output is capped at 1,024 tokens, so you get a focused, actionable summary — not a lengthy report. Whether you're planning learning and development initiatives, preparing for new projects, or evaluating team readiness, this agent helps you identify where to invest your resources.
HOW TO USE
Open the agent in any BotSurf frame. Enter the role or department name (e.g., "Data Science Team" or "Project Managers"). List the required skills for that role (comma-separated, e.g., "Python, Machine Learning, SQL, Data Visualization"). Provide a summary of current team capabilities (e.g., "Team has basic Python, no ML experience, strong SQL"). Click "Summarise Gaps" or press Ctrl+Enter. The agent generates a complete skills gap summary in the output panel, structured with clear sections. You can also click "Use the page selection" to grab highlighted text from a webpage — ideal if you have job descriptions, skill frameworks, or performance reviews open in another tab. The panel remembers its position across sessions (drag to reposition, snap to edges, collapse with Escape), and you can clear inputs or output with one click. No configuration — just role, required skills, current capabilities, and get your summary.
WHAT IT SENDS
When you click "Summarise Gaps," the agent sends only your role or department name, your list of required skills, and your current team capabilities summary — nothing more, nothing less. It does not send your browsing history, cookies, localStorage, page context, or any other data unless you explicitly paste or select it into the fields. If you use the "Use the page selection" button, the agent copies the selected text from the page into the appropriate input field, and that text is then sent exactly as if you had typed it. All transmissions occur over the BGAI bridge using the API key you have already provided to BotSurf; the agent itself does not store, cache, or log your input content. Usage logs record only the number of successful summary generation requests for billing purposes — they do not retain any query or response text. Your team data and gap summaries remain private to your session.
SUBSCRIPTION
AI Skills Gap Summariser is priced at $19.99 per month, which includes a 7‑day free trial and 100 summary generations per month. Unused runs do not roll over. If you exceed the monthly limit, additional requests will be blocked until the next billing cycle. Upgrade your plan or purchase extra runs through the BotSurf marketplace as needed. No hidden fees, and no automatic upgrades.
THE PANEL
The agent runs as a floating, draggable panel inside BotSurf. Drag the header to reposition it anywhere; it snaps to the nearest edge for a tidy workspace. Collapse it to a small bubble with the ✨ emoji by pressing Escape or clicking the collapse handle — the bubble stays accessible without taking up screen space. Expand it again by clicking the bubble. Panel position is persisted via BGAI.setState, so it returns to your preferred spot across sessions. The dark theme (#0f172a background, #38bdf8 accent) ensures readability in any lighting environment.
PLEASE NOTE
AI can make mistakes. Always review generated summaries for accuracy and alignment with your organisation's actual skill requirements and team assessments. The agent provides general HR guidance and does not constitute professional advice — it is not a substitute for thorough skills assessment, performance data analysis, or consultation with subject matter experts, especially in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, or government. Ensure that all skill definitions and assessments are accurate and relevant to the specific context. This tool is designed to generate drafts and ideas, not as a final decision-making authority. Validate findings with team feedback and consult with HR or training specialists when planning development initiatives.
