About this app

WHAT IT DOES

The AI Team Retro Summary Writer helps agile teams, engineering managers, and team leads capture retrospective outcomes in a clear, structured format that drives continuous improvement. You provide the retrospective details—sprint/project name, what went well, what didn't go well, improvement ideas, and any specific focus areas—and the agent returns a structured team retrospective summary with five essential sections: Retro Overview (a concise summary of the sprint or project and the team's overall sentiment), What Went Well (positive highlights and successes to celebrate and reinforce), What Didn't Go Well (challenges, blockers, and areas for improvement), Improvement Actions (specific, actionable steps to address the issues identified), and Key Takeaways (the most important lessons learned for the team). The output is capped at 1,024 tokens, so the summary focuses on the five most critical insights and actions—ensuring the team leaves the retro with clarity and momentum. This is ideal for agile teams, engineering managers, scrum masters, and project leads who want to document retrospectives and track improvement over time.

HOW TO USE

Open the agent in BotSurf (botsurf.ai). Paste your key once (the host handles key management). Then paste your retrospective details into the input box—sprint/project name, what went well, what didn't, improvement ideas, and focus areas. You can use free‑form text, bullet points, or structured notes. Press “Write summary” or use Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac) to generate. Within seconds, you receive a structured summary with clear sections. You can also click “Use page selection” to pull highlighted text from any open page—making it easy to capture details from retro boards, meeting notes, or team feedback without manual retyping. The agent handles any retro type, from sprint retrospectives to project post-mortems to team health checks.

WHAT IT SENDS

The agent sends exactly the text you place in the input box—nothing more. It does not transmit any metadata, browsing history, cookies, attached files, or system information. Transmission occurs only when you press the “Write summary” button or the keyboard shortcut. Usage logs record the timestamp, user ID, and run count for billing purposes, but they do not store or transmit the substantive content of your input or the agent’s output. The agent does not retain your data after generating a response; every run is stateless. This section is required and precise—there is no hidden data collection, no background scanning, no external sharing, and no persistent storage of your retro data.

SUBSCRIPTION

$19.99/month with a 7‑day free trial (no charge during trial). Includes 100 runs per month; unused runs do not roll over. You may cancel anytime from your BotSurf account settings—no penalties, no questions asked. After cancellation, access ends at the current billing period’s close. The free trial is a great way to test the agent with your actual retro data before committing.

THE PANEL

Drag the panel by its header to reposition it anywhere on screen. Snap to left, right, or bottom edges for side‑by‑side work with other tools. Collapse to a minimal bar when not in use (click the “−” button or press Escape). Press Escape again to expand. Close the panel with the “✕” button; your input and output remain until you clear them. Panel position and collapse state persist across sessions when the host supports state storage.

PLEASE NOTE

AI may miss team-specific nuances or suggest unrealistic actions. Always review and adapt retro summaries to reflect the team's actual context, capacity, and priorities. This tool provides general information and summarisation assistance only—it does not constitute professional team facilitation, coaching, or management advice. Users must independently verify all actions and takeaways with the team before implementation. The agent is an assistant, not a substitute for skilled agile coaches or team facilitators.
