Applicant Status Highlighter

WHAT IT DOES

Applicant Status Highlighter is a floating panel that scans the current page for applicant and recruitment status indicators. It identifies statuses like Applied, Screening, Interview, Offer, Hired, and Rejected, and applies distinct color-coded highlights to each status on the page. The panel displays a summary of applicants by status with color-coded badges and a detailed list of each applicant with their context. This helps recruiters quickly visualize the distribution of applicants across the hiring pipeline and identify bottlenecks.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs on any website you visit — applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment dashboards, hiring platforms, or any page with applicant status information. It reads only the page you are looking at, never other tabs, bookmarks, or browser data. All data stays in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

HOW TO USE

Open any page with applicant or candidate statuses. Click the Applicant Status Highlighter panel button in the BotGentz extension toolbar. The panel appears at the edge of the page. Click "Scan Page" to find and highlight statuses. Each applicant is highlighted with a color specific to their status. The panel shows a summary of counts by status and a list of applicants with context. You can customize the status names, toggle highlights on/off, clear highlights, or copy results to your clipboard.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool scans the page for status keywords using case-insensitive matching. It searches the page text and scans table rows, list items, and other structured elements. When a status is found, the tool identifies the containing element (row, list item, or container) and applies a CSS class with a color-coded border. The tool deduplicates results and counts applicants by status. Status colors are configurable and stored locally. All operations run client-side in pure JavaScript.

THE PANEL

The panel is a floating overlay that you can drag anywhere on the screen by its header. It remembers its position per site so it reappears where you left it. The panel can be collapsed into a small handle to get it out of the way, and snapped to the edge of the page. It can be resized to fit your workflow. Press Escape to close the panel.

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. All data stays in your browser — nothing is transmitted or shared. The panel works on any website. Status names are customizable and saved locally. The tool matches exact status names — it may not detect variations. Sites change — the script may need updates to match new site structures.
