About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Archive Node Manager is a developer tool that simulates the configuration and management of an Ethereum archive node. Select the network (Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, Goerli, or Holesky), set storage limits (500 GB to 4 TB), choose pruning options (None for full archive, Ancient data only, or Full pruning), and configure the snapshot interval in blocks. The tool generates a simulated archive node with a node ID, status, storage usage, data size, sync progress, and detailed metrics including blocks stored, state entries, and daily growth rate. This is essential for developers planning archive node deployments, understanding storage requirements, or evaluating pruning strategies.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using the BGWallet bridge (MetaMask or any Web3 wallet). Select the network — Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, Goerli, or Holesky. Choose the storage limit — 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB, or 4 TB. Select the pruning option — None (full archive, stores all historical data), Ancient data only (stores only ancient blocks), or Full pruning (removes old state data). Set the snapshot interval in blocks (default 10,000). Click "Start archive node" to simulate the launch. Results display the node status (Online with a status dot), node ID, network, storage limit, pruning mode with a color-coded badge, snapshot interval, and data size. The output shows additional metrics: sync progress, blocks stored, state entries, data directory path, and estimated daily growth. This is useful for understanding the resource requirements and behavior of an archive node.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool simulates archive node management using client-side logic. It generates a unique node ID based on the current timestamp and a random string. The storage limit determines the maximum data size, and the pruning option affects the badge color and data retention policy. The data size is calculated as a percentage of the storage limit (30-70%), and the sync progress is randomized between 70% and 100%. The tool simulates blocks stored (millions), state entries (hundreds of millions), and daily growth (2-12 GB/day) to provide realistic metrics. It does not actually manage any node software — the simulation is for demonstration and planning purposes. All operations are performed client-side — no data is stored or transmitted. The tool is read-only and does not sign any transactions.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

The tool cannot actually manage archive nodes without a local installation of the node software — the management is a simulation. It cannot configure historical data retention or pruning policies automatically — the simulation does not apply real policies. It cannot handle node synchronization errors or storage failures — the simulation always succeeds. It cannot provide real-time node status or logs — the simulation is static. It cannot manage node upgrades or data migration — the simulation does not include maintenance. It cannot detect actual storage usage or performance metrics. The tool is read-only and does not sign any transactions.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works exclusively with EVM-compatible chains for the wallet connection, but the archive node simulation is chain-agnostic. Solana, Tron, Starknet, SUI, TON, Aptos, Bitcoin, Cosmos, and XRP are not supported for wallet connection but the simulation works regardless. The tool provides a simulation — for real archive node management, use Geth, Nethermind, or other Ethereum clients with archive mode enabled. The tool does not store any data — all operations are performed client-side. The tool is provided as-is with no warranty or liability. Always verify system requirements and storage costs before deploying real archive nodes.
