The Auto-Rollover Position Tool enables automated position rollover before expiry, a critical feature for DeFi positions that need to be maintained over time. This tool is essential for users with expiring positions such as options, futures, lending positions, yield farming positions, or any time-limited DeFi position that requires periodic renewal. By automating rollovers, users avoid position liquidation, maintain exposure, and eliminate the need for manual monitoring and execution.

The tool reads position state including position parameters, token balances, current prices from price feeds/oracles, position size, position expiry, rollover frequency, position status, and underlying asset details. It supports multiple rollover execution method variants (rolloverPosition, executeRollover, performRollover) to ensure compatibility with various position management contract implementations. The tool displays comprehensive position details including position size, expiry, rollover count, max rollovers, next rollover time, and active status.

HOW TO USE

1. Connect your wallet using the Connect button. The tool automatically detects your connected address and network.

2. Select the network where your rollover contract is deployed using the network dropdown.

3. Enter the rollover contract address and the position ID you want to manage.

4. Enter the position asset token address, rollover frequency in seconds, and maximum number of rollovers (0 for unlimited).

5. Configure your slippage tolerance percentage for each rollover execution.

6. Click "Execute Rollover" to manually trigger a rollover, or use "Load Position" to view current position details.

7. The tool will automatically execute rollovers at the configured frequency before positions expire.

8. Review position details in the preview panel including owner, asset token, position size, expiry, rollover count, max rollovers, next rollover time, and active status.

9. Use the "Cancel Auto-Rollover" button to stop automatic rollovers for a position.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool dynamically discovers the correct rollover function by attempting multiple common ABI variants (rolloverPosition, executeRollover, performRollover) and performing gas estimation to verify the function exists. When a rollover is triggered, the tool calls the rollover contract with the position ID as the parameter. The contract then validates the position is eligible for rollover (not expired, within frequency window), calculates any fees or adjustments, closes the current position, and opens a new position with the same parameters extended for another period. The tool reads position state via the positions view function, which returns owner address, asset token, position size, expiry timestamp, rollover count, max rollovers, and active status. The nextRolloverTime view function calculates when the next rollover is scheduled based on the configured frequency.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify that the price feed is accurate or reliable; it relies entirely on the oracle configured in the contract. It cannot detect if the oracle has been compromised, manipulated, or provides stale data. It cannot ensure that rollover will execute at the intended rate due to slippage, market volatility, and block timing. It cannot guarantee that positions will be rolled over if there are insufficient funds in the position or if liquidity conditions prevent execution. It cannot verify that the rollover contract has not been upgraded or modified after position creation. It cannot detect if the swap path is optimal or if the transaction is being front-run by malicious actors. It cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs, insufficient approvals, out-of-gas errors, or blockchain reorgs. It cannot verify that underlying assets are legitimate or not honeypot contracts. It cannot predict market movements, price gaps, or flash crashes that may affect rollover execution. It cannot guarantee execution during extreme network congestion, high gas prices, or volatile market conditions. It cannot detect if the underlying protocol has been compromised or is returning manipulated prices. It cannot prevent the user from canceling or modifying rollover settings through other interfaces. It cannot ensure that the configured rollover frequency is appropriate for current market conditions or position characteristics.

This tool is designed for EVM-compatible blockchains only (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BSC, Avalanche, Fantom, Linea, Scroll). It requires an active wallet connection and sufficient native currency for gas fees for each rollover execution. Always verify your rollover contract address, position ID, and position parameters before executing. The tool attempts multiple ABI variants but may not support all rollover contract implementations - verify your contract's functions match the expected interfaces.
