About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Backer Update Reply Drafter is a writing tool that analyzes crowdfunding updates, backer comments, and campaign messages from any webpage, then drafts a polite, appreciative reply to a backer's comment or question. It identifies the backer's concern, question, or feedback, then generates a well-structured reply that thanks the backer for their support, directly addresses their question or concern, and provides a helpful, clear response or next steps. You can choose between appreciative, informative, or supportive tones, review the draft in the panel, edit it as needed, and copy it for use in your campaign communication platform.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage displaying crowdfunding updates, backer comments, campaign messages, or similar campaign content. Common sources include Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and other crowdfunding platforms.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any page that displays a crowdfunding update, backer comment, or campaign message. Open the BotGentz extension and select Backer Update Reply Drafter from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Enter your full name and email address in the provided fields (these are stored locally for future use). Select your preferred tone (appreciative, informative, or supportive) from the dropdown menu. Optionally, enter any custom instructions. Click the "Draft Reply" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant backer comment and campaign context and sends it along with your tone preference to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a polite, appreciative reply in the panel. Review the draft, make any edits directly in the panel, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for use in your campaign platform.
TECHNICAL SECTION — BACKER COMMENT AND CAMPAIGN CONTEXT EXTRACTION
This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on crowdfunding and backer communication patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing backer indicators such as "backer," "comment," "question," "concern," "support," "update," "campaign," "pledge," "reward," and "feedback." Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures both the comment data and surrounding structural markers (backer names, comment dates, reward levels). Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being part of a backer comment context using features like backer language frequency ("backer," "pledge," "support," "comment"), concern markers, and question indicators. Fourth, the system applies semantic clustering to group related content into three core categories: the backer's question or concern, the campaign context, and any supporting details. Finally, the structured clusters, combined with the user's provided information (name, email, tone, and custom instructions), are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to generate a polite, appreciative reply with standardized sections (thanks, addressing concerns, helpful response, and polite closing), reducing hallucination and ensuring a professional, contextually appropriate draft.
THE PANEL
The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active subscription to access the AI drafting feature. AI-generated backer replies are for assistance only and should be reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness before posting, as interpretations may occasionally miss comment nuances or misread backer sentiment. Websites change their campaign page formats frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API; your personal information (name, email) is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the AI as part of the draft generation. No browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
