HOW TO USE

Connect your Web3 wallet to the Base network. Enter the grant token contract address. Enter grant metadata: grant round (e.g., "Onchain Summer 2025", "Round 2"), category (e.g., "DeFi", "NFT", "Infrastructure", "Gaming"), and builder cohort (e.g., "Cohort 3", "Summer Builders"). Paste or upload your list of grant recipients in the format "address, amount, project, notes" with one entry per line—amounts are in human-readable token units. The tool parses the list and displays a preview showing each recipient, their project name, amount, and notes. Review the sender contract address, fee, and contract owner for transparency. Click the distribute grants button, review the transaction in your wallet, and confirm. The tool executes a batched transfer with grant metadata attached on Base, storing each recipient's project name and notes on-chain alongside the transfer, along with the grant round, category, and cohort. After confirmation, all grant recipients receive their tokens, and the distribution metadata is permanently recorded on Base.

MECHANISM: BATCH GRANT DISTRIBUTION WITH ON-CHAIN METADATA

The tool interacts with a specialized BotGentz sender contract deployed on Base that supports a batchTransferERC20WithGrantMetadata function. This function accepts arrays of recipient addresses, grant amounts, project names, and notes, along with grant round, category, and cohort strings. The contract stores the metadata by emitting events that include all fields, ensuring the metadata is permanently recorded on-chain and searchable via event logs. The tool builds the batch transaction by encoding each recipient's address, grant amount, project name, and notes into the appropriate arrays. It reads the fee() function live from the sender contract, checks the sender's grant token balance and allowance on Base, approves the exact total, and executes the batch transfer. The grant metadata strings are stored once for the entire batch. The transaction is atomic—either all recipients receive their grants with metadata, or the entire transaction reverts with no partial distributions. This ensures that grant payouts are executed with full transparency and auditability on Base.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool reads no on-chain data directly. It does not verify that recipient addresses are valid, that the grant program has sufficient token balance, or that the token contract address provided is correct. It cannot guarantee that all transfers will succeed—if one transfer fails due to a blacklisted address, insufficient balance, or any other reason, the entire batch reverts. It cannot account for Base-specific gas mechanics or L2 fee structures. It cannot verify that the grant metadata is accurate or that recipients are eligible for grants. It cannot provide on-chain dispute resolution or clawback mechanisms. It cannot ensure that metadata is indexed or searchable. It cannot recover from failed transactions or generate reports for failed batches. It cannot verify that the grant program has sufficient funds or that the grants comply with governance requirements. It cannot verify that the project name or category corresponds to actual grant activities.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works exclusively on EVM-compatible chains and is specifically designed for Base (chain ID 8453). It requires the user to have sufficient native ETH for gas and sufficient grant token balance to cover the total amount sent plus the sender contract fee. The user is solely responsible for verifying the token contract address, grant recipient addresses, grant amounts, and grant metadata before signing. Always test with a small batch first to confirm the setup is correct. Metadata storage consumes additional gas—longer notes will increase transaction costs. The sender contract addresses are hardcoded per chain and are publicly available for verification; no third-party custody is involved; you remain in full control of your wallet and funds at all times. On-chain grant metadata is public and immutable—do not include sensitive project information. Base's low transaction costs make this tool particularly cost-effective for large grant distributions.
