HOW TO USE

Connect your EVM wallet using the "Connect" button in the header. Select the network where the bridge transaction will be sent from the dropdown menu. Enter the bridge contract address you intend to use. Optionally enter the token address, token amount, destination chain name, and transaction calldata (if you have it from your wallet's transaction preview) — providing more details improves the fee estimate accuracy. Click "Explain fee breakdown" to begin the analysis. The tool estimates the gas cost from the current gas price, calculates bridge and relayer fees based on the transfer amount, and sends the data to the AI for a plain-English fee explanation. Results appear within seconds, showing the bridge contract, chain, a detailed fee breakdown with visual bars, total estimated cost, fee percentage, and a comprehensive AI-generated explanation written in clear, conversational language.

DYNAMIC FEE ESTIMATION AND AI-GENERATED EXPLANATION

The tool uses a multi-factor estimation engine to calculate bridge transaction fees. It starts by fetching the current gas price from the connected provider using eth_gasPrice, then estimates the gas required based on the contract complexity (base gas plus additional for calldata length, destination routing, and token operations). The base gas estimate starts at 120,000 units, with additional gas added for calldata length (approximately 2 gas per byte) and destination chain routing (20,000 gas). For the bridge fee, the tool estimates a percentage of the transfer amount — typically 0.05% to 0.5% depending on the protocol — with a default of 0.15% if the amount is provided. The relayer fee is estimated as 30% of the bridge fee, and the protocol fee as 10% of the bridge fee. All fees are converted to native currency using the gas price and displayed in ETH, BNB, MATIC, or AVAX depending on the chain. The AI receives all fee data and is prompted to explain each fee component in plain language — what each fee covers, why it exists, whether the total cost is reasonable compared to typical bridge transactions, and a clear recommendation. The AI is also instructed to state plainly what it cannot verify — that it reads on-chain data and fee structures from the contract, not off-chain fee components, dynamic pricing changes, or the bridge's profitability/operational costs.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot provide exact fee breakdown for all bridge protocols — fee structures vary widely and may not be fully accessible on-chain for all bridges. It cannot account for dynamic fees or off-chain relayer fees not encoded in the contract — some protocols adjust fees based on network conditions or competition, and these changes may not be reflected in the estimate. Gas prices may change between the estimate and execution — the actual cost you pay may be higher or lower than the estimate. Legitimate bridges with complex fee models may be difficult to parse — the tool may not detect all fee components if the contract uses non-standard naming or logic. The tool cannot detect if fees are being inflated or if the bridge is overcharging — it compares to typical ranges but cannot verify profitability. The tool cannot estimate fees for transactions on chains it does not support. The tool cannot account for slippage or rate changes in token transfers.
