About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Brokerage Web Bulk Watchlist Price Checker solves a common investing challenge: monitoring prices across multiple watchlist symbols is tedious when done manually. While brokerage platforms display individual symbol prices, there is no native way to refresh and track price changes across your entire watchlist in one view. This tool reads your current brokerage watchlist page, detects all visible symbols, and displays them in a scrollable checklist with symbols, current prices, day change, volume, and price history. You can refresh all symbols at once to get the latest prices. The tool tracks price changes by storing previous prices and displays color-coded indicators: green for price up, red for price down, and gray for no change. You can filter results by price change status, view a preview of selected symbols, and export the complete dataset as CSV or JSON.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension panel runs directly inside your browser as an overlay on any brokerage watchlist page. It works on watchlist views, portfolio pages, and market summary pages. The tool extracts symbol data from the page's DOM and uses local storage to track price history. It requires no additional API keys or permissions beyond the BotGentz extension.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension and activating Brokerage Web Bulk Watchlist Price Checker, navigate to your brokerage watchlist page. Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel. The tool automatically detects all symbols displayed on the current page. Each symbol appears with its current price, day change, volume, and sector. Click "Check Prices" to refresh all symbols with their current prices. The tool extracts the price from the page and compares it with any previously stored price, showing the change direction. Use the filter dropdown to view only symbols that have gone up, down, or remained unchanged. The results section shows each symbol with a status indicator and price details. Click "Export Report" to copy the complete dataset to your clipboard in CSV or JSON format.

TECHNICAL OPERATION — DOM-Based Price Extraction and Local Storage Tracking

This tool extracts symbol data from the brokerage page by scanning for elements containing symbol information. It uses selectors like `[data-symbol]`, `.symbol`, and `.watchlist-item` to identify symbols, then extracts prices from price elements, change values from change elements, and volume from volume elements. The price is parsed from text (removing currency symbols and commas) to a numeric value for comparison. Price history is stored per symbol using GM_setValue with keys like `prevPrice_[symbolId]`, storing the previous price. When checking prices, the tool compares the current price with the most recent historical price to determine the change direction. The tool uses a 300ms delay between updates to ensure stable DOM access and prevent UI congestion. Results can be filtered by change status and exported as CSV with proper field quoting, or as structured JSON.

THE PANEL

The extension panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per site session. It snaps to the nearest edge of the browser viewport when dragged within 50 pixels of any side. You can collapse the panel to a compact title bar using the minimize button, preserving your selection state. The panel resizes vertically by dragging the bottom edge. Press the Escape key to close the panel instantly. The results update in real-time as you refresh prices or apply filters.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension to function. The script extracts symbol data from the page's DOM and stores price history locally using GM_setValue. It does not transmit or log any symbol data, prices, or user activity. All operations are performed locally in your browser session. Price history is stored per symbol ID and persists across sessions. The tool only sees symbols that are currently rendered in the page's DOM — scroll to load all symbols before using the tool. Brokerage platforms may update their DOM structure over time, which could affect symbol detection; we monitor and release compatibility updates as needed. Price changes are calculated based on the most recent stored price; the tool does not verify prices against the exchange directly. Export formats include CSV and JSON for maximum compatibility with analysis tools.
