WHAT IT DOES

Bumble Web Match Expiry Countdown reads match expiration timers directly from the Bumble web interface and displays them in a clear, sortable list. For each match, the extension shows the remaining time until expiry in days, hours, and minutes. Matches expiring within 24 hours are highlighted with color-coded warnings—red for imminent expiry (under 1 hour), orange for under 12 hours, and yellow for under 24 hours. The extension also shows a summary of total matches, active matches, and how many are at risk of expiring. A one-click "Open Matches" button takes you directly to your Bumble match list, and the "Refresh Matches" button updates the display with the latest data. Optional notifications alert you when matches are approaching their expiry threshold, helping you prioritize conversations before it's too late.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all Bumble web pages at bumble.com and its subdomains. It runs on the match list page, conversation views, and any page where match items with expiry timers are displayed. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Bumble's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to bumble.com and log in to your account. The extension automatically detects your matches and displays their expiry timers in a panel. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel and view your current matches sorted by remaining time (soonest first). The panel shows each match's name and the exact time remaining before expiry. Matches at risk are highlighted with color coding. Use the "Open Matches" button to quickly navigate to your Bumble match list. Set your notification threshold (12, 24, 48, or 72 hours) using the dropdown menu to control when you receive alerts. Toggle "Show expired matches" to view matches that have already expired. The "Refresh Matches" button manually updates the panel with the latest match data.

DYNAMIC TEXT PARSING WITH UNIT RECOGNITION

Unlike simple DOM scraping that relies on fixed class names, this extension uses a sophisticated text parsing engine that recognizes Bumble's various time display formats. Bumble may show expiry times as "2d 14h," "23h 45m," "45m," or other variations across different pages and updates. The extension's parser employs a unified time unit recognition system that identifies days, hours, and minute indicators regardless of format, combining them into a total minutes value. This parser also handles the edge case of showing "Expires in" text and various timer formats. The parsed values are then used to sort matches by urgency, apply color coding, and trigger notifications. This approach makes the extension robust to minor UI changes that would break selector-based solutions, ensuring reliable operation across Bumble's evolving interface.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on bumble.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, notification threshold, and expired matches visibility, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Bumble's website changes periodically, and match element structures, class names, and time display formats may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting expiry timers until an update is released. The extension stores your notification threshold, show expired matches preference, and last notification timestamp locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. The extension does not read or store your Bumble login credentials, email, or any identifying information. It only reads publicly visible match data and expiry timers from the page. You can clear all stored settings at any time from the extension's settings page or by clearing your browser data for bumble.com. Notifications are subject to a one-hour cooldown to prevent excessive alerts.
