About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Canada Sports Broadcast Region Switcher is a dedicated region-switching tool that helps you understand which Canadian broadcasters and regional channels become accessible when BotSurf is set to a specific Canadian province or territory — Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, and others. It is not a VPN or proxy; it works alongside BotSurf to change the apparent location that streaming platforms use to determine your regional access. By doing so, it surfaces the local sports coverage, broadcaster affiliations, and blackout rules that are normally shown to viewers browsing from that Canadian province. This makes it easier to plan which matches and events you can watch, compare broadcast options, and navigate the complex landscape of Canadian sports broadcasting rights.

WHAT THE REGION CHANGES — SPECIFIC

When the region is set to a Canadian province or city, this app reflects the following practical changes:

• Broadcasters like TSN (The Sports Network), Sportsnet, CBC, CTV, RDS (Réseau des sports), and TVA Sports become visible based on the claimed location.

• NHL coverage shows which broadcaster has rights for that province — for example, TSN and Sportsnet share national rights, with regional blackouts for specific teams (e.g., Leafs on Sportsnet in Ontario, Canadiens on RDS in Quebec, Canucks on Sportsnet in BC).

• CFL coverage shows TSN as the primary broadcaster for all regular season and playoff games across Canada.

• NBA coverage, particularly for the Toronto Raptors, shows TSN and Sportsnet as the primary broadcasters, with regional variations.

• MLB coverage, particularly for the Toronto Blue Jays, shows Sportsnet as the primary broadcaster across Canada, with some games on TSN.

• Soccer coverage (MLS, Premier League, Canadian Premier League) shows TSN and Sportsnet as the primary broadcasters, with select matches on CBC and CTV.

• Curling coverage shows TSN and Sportsnet as the primary broadcasters, with major events like the Brier and Scotties Tournament of Hearts on TSN.

• Blackout rules are explained for that specific province — for example, NHL regional blackouts apply when a local team's game is broadcast on a regional sports network, and it is not available on out-of-market packages.

This is not a universal unlock — it changes what is shown, not what is available. The visible broadcast options and blackout explanations update based on the region value passed to the merchant.

HOW TO USE

Open the app over any sports streaming page, broadcaster website, or sports app where you want to see Canadian regional sports coverage. It works in two modes:

• Layered over a live page — activate the panel while browsing the sports platform; the page stays in the background and you can consult the region status, broadcast availability, and province-specific blackout rules without losing your place.

• Full frame — when there is no underlying page, the app stands alone as a dashboard showing the current Canadian province and the expected sports broadcast coverage.

Once the app is open, check the region chip in the header to confirm you are browsing as a specific Canadian province. If not, use the "switch" button or the "Prompt region change" button in the main card to ask BotSurf to switch. When a region change is initiated, your browser will ask for permission to reload; accept the reload to apply the new region to the page underneath. If you choose not to reload, the app will still show the updated region status, but the underlying streaming page will continue to use the previous region until it is refreshed manually.

Use the editable reference table to keep notes of sports broadcast data you have observed — it is a static memory aid, not a live feed. The consistency check helps you see if your own browser signals (timezone, language) agree with the claimed region, which is important because some streaming platforms cross-check these signals.

WHAT IT CANNOT DO

This app does not route traffic or mask your IP address — BotSurf handles that separately. It cannot bypass broadcaster-imposed blackout restrictions, including NHL regional blackouts (where local games are not available on out-of-market packages like NHL Centre Ice), which are enforced by the content providers based on your detected location, account billing address, and licensing agreements. It cannot guarantee access to any specific match or event, as availability depends on your active subscription, the platform's content rights, and the specific competition schedule. It cannot override the terms of service of streaming platforms such as TSN Direct, Sportsnet Now, CBC Gem, CTV, RDS, TVA Sports, or any other provider. It cannot authenticate with a broadcaster or streaming provider — you must have a valid subscription to view content. It cannot affect content libraries, account entitlements, or regional rights that are tied to your billing address or physical location rather than your browsing region. It is a front-end region indicator and informational tool, not a licence circumvention or authentication solution.

PLEASE NOTE

Many Canadian sports streaming platforms actively detect and block VPN or region-switching traffic. While this app is designed to work with BotSurf, some services may still serve a default national feed or require a local billing address or subscription to access regional content. Terms of service for these platforms may prohibit using region-switching tools to circumvent blackouts; users should review applicable terms and use this tool responsibly. This app does not store personal or payment data — all region state is held in memory only for the current page session. Broadcast data in the reference table is static and not guaranteed to be current; always verify with your provider.
