WHAT IT DOES

Check Product Authenticity enables you to verify the authenticity of products using blockchain technology. Blockchain-based product authentication provides a tamper-proof record of product registration, manufacturer identity, and timestamp, helping combat counterfeiting and ensuring product provenance. This tool takes a product identifier or serial number, optional product metadata (brand, model, batch), and queries an authenticity contract on the blockchain to retrieve the product's registration record. It displays the product status (authentic or counterfeit), manufacturer address, and registration timestamp. This is essential for supply chain verification, luxury goods authentication, pharmaceutical tracking, and any application requiring product authenticity verification. The tool provides clear output showing the product ID, authenticity status, manufacturer, and timestamp.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using the BGWallet connector (required for context). Enter the authenticity contract address that manages product registrations. Enter the product identifier or serial number (e.g., "ABC123XYZ"). Optionally, enter the brand and model for additional context. Click "Check Authenticity" to query the blockchain. The tool retrieves the product registration record from the contract and displays the product ID, authenticity status, manufacturer address, and registration timestamp. The result includes a detailed breakdown showing the product details and verification status. You can copy the product ID to your clipboard for reference.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

This tool implements product authenticity verification by querying a blockchain-based product registry. The verification process: (1) the product identifier is validated; (2) the authenticity contract is queried using the product identifier; (3) the contract returns the product record including manufacturer address, registration timestamp, and authenticity status; (4) the record is displayed for verification. The blockchain provides a permanent, tamper-proof record of product registrations. The manufacturer address is cryptographically verified through the contract's authentication logic. All computation is performed locally in the browser with data fetched from the blockchain for verification.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify the physical product's authenticity beyond the digital record—it only confirms the blockchain record. It does not support verification without a product identifier or serial number; the identifier is required. The tool cannot detect if the product has been tampered with after registration; it only verifies the registration record. It does not support verification of products registered on private or permissioned blockchains; only public EVM chains are supported. The tool cannot verify the product's authenticity beyond the blockchain record; it only confirms the record exists. It does not support verification of products from non-EVM chains. The tool cannot guarantee that the product record is accurate or truthful; it only verifies the record. It does not support batch verification of multiple products; each product must be verified separately.
