About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Content Plagiarism Risk Flagger extracts selected text or page content and uses advanced AI to analyze it for potential plagiarism risks. It identifies passages that may be too similar to common sources, overused phrases, clichés, or content that lacks sufficient originality. The tool provides a clear risk assessment (low, medium, or high) along with flagged sections and specific, actionable suggestions for revision to improve originality while preserving the intended meaning.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool operates as a userscript within the BotGentz extension framework, running directly in your browser on any website. It works on articles, blog posts, student papers, business documents, website copy, and virtually any text-based content. The tool integrates seamlessly into your workflow, appearing as a draggable panel that stays accessible as you write, edit, and review content.

HOW TO USE

Select text on the page and click "Get Text" to extract it automatically, or paste content directly into the panel. Configure your risk settings: choose your desired threshold (Low, Medium, or High) to control detection sensitivity, select the output format (Detailed Report or Summary Only), and toggle source suggestions on or off. Click "Analyze Risk" to send the content to the AI backend. Within moments, you'll receive a comprehensive risk assessment with flagged sections, explanations, and revision suggestions. Use the "Copy Analysis" button to save the results for reference or sharing with collaborators.

TECHNICAL OPERATION

Content Plagiarism Risk Flagger employs a multi-strategy extraction pipeline that first checks for selected text, then attempts WebMCP (navigator.modelContext) when available—a W3C proposal for structured page content access—and falls back to DOM-based content detection using prioritized selectors. The user's threshold preference, format selection, and source suggestion toggle are encoded as system-level instructions in the prompt sent to the AI. The text is truncated to 8000 characters and transmitted via GM_xmlhttpRequest to the AI backend. The AI, specifically prompted as a content originality specialist, analyzes text for patterns that indicate potential plagiarism risk, including common phrases, clichéd expressions, and passages that follow predictable patterns. It generates a structured assessment with risk level categorization, flagged passage identification, and specific rewrite suggestions. Each request is authenticated with a subscription key and counts against your monthly usage cap.

THE PANEL

The Content Plagiarism Risk Flagger panel is fully draggable and remembers its position between sessions using GM_setValue. It snaps to the edge of the viewport for a clean interface and can be collapsed to a small icon when not in use. The panel is resizable to accommodate longer content. Press Escape to quickly close or collapse the panel. The design is optimized for productivity with a dark theme, clear visual hierarchy, and responsive controls that adapt to your workflow.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension installed in your browser and an active subscription to access the AI backend. AI-generated risk assessments are intended as aids for identifying potential originality issues and should be reviewed carefully by a human editor. The tool does not perform actual plagiarism detection against a database of sources, but rather identifies patterns and phrasing that may indicate insufficient originality. Always verify results and use professional plagiarism detection services when required. No page data is stored or transmitted beyond the content you explicitly submit for analysis. All processing occurs through secure HTTPS connections, and your subscription key is never exposed to the page context.
