About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool generates structured announcements for contract interface freezes by analyzing contract state, upgrade history, and ownership data. It provides a comprehensive announcement template for communicating interface freeze plans to stakeholders, integrators, and users. The tool analyzes contract verification status, upgrade history, ownership information, and current interface version to generate a detailed announcement with key details including contract name, address, proposed freeze date, interface version, upgrade history, and ownership information. Results are presented as a structured announcement with status indicators (published/scheduled/draft), preview content, and a table of all announcement items. This is essential for teams planning interface freezes, developers communicating breaking changes, and auditors ensuring proper governance processes.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet (read-only, no transaction required) and select the target network. Enter the contract name and address, select the proposed freeze date, and set the lookback blocks for upgrade history analysis. Click "generate announcement" and the tool will verify the contract, analyze its state and upgrade history, and generate a structured announcement. Results display a summary with contract details and freeze date, detailed announcement cards showing each item with its status and value, an announcement preview with the full formatted text, and a table of all announcement items. Use the report to communicate freeze plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure transparent governance.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The generator uses ethers.js v5.7.2 to perform a multi-stage announcement generation process. First, it calls eth_getCode to verify the contract is deployed and uses block explorer APIs to fetch verification status, source code, and ABI. The tool then scans historical logs using eth_getLogs across the specified block range to identify upgrade events (e.g., Upgraded, ProxyUpgraded, ImplementationChanged), ownership transfer events (e.g., OwnershipTransferred), and other relevant governance events. It queries the contract state via eth_call to retrieve current ownership information and version data. The tool analyzes the contract interface to determine the current version and compatibility status. Each announcement item is assigned a status: published (if the data is confirmed on-chain), scheduled (if the date is set but not yet executed), or draft (if the data is pending confirmation). The tool generates a formatted announcement preview that includes all key details in a structured format suitable for publication on various channels. Results are compiled into a structured report with detailed announcement information, status indicators, and a formatted preview.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot actually freeze interfaces or execute transactions—it performs announcement generation only. It is limited by the RPC provider's rate limits and block range availability for historical log queries. It cannot predict future interface changes or compatibility issues—the announcement is based on current on-chain data and user-provided information. The analysis relies on the accuracy and completeness of contract verification and event data; incomplete logs or unverified contracts may produce incomplete announcements. It cannot analyze contracts that are not verified or have opaque upgrade mechanisms where events are not emitted. The tool is limited to the specific contract instances and events that are accessible via RPC. It cannot guarantee that generated announcements reflect actual freeze plans without manual review and team input—the tool generates a template based on on-chain data, but the final decision and communication rests with the team.

PLEASE NOTE

This is a read‑only analytics tool—it never submits transactions or initiates freezes. It is designed for EVM‑compatible chains and works best with verified contracts that emit upgrade and ownership events. The generated announcement is for informational and planning purposes only and should be reviewed and approved by the team before publication. Always coordinate with your team, integrators, and stakeholders before finalizing interface freeze announcements. The tool's status indicators are heuristic and based on the available data—customize the announcement content as needed for your specific context and requirements.
