About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Contract Similarity Scam Matcher uses AI-powered similarity analysis to identify whether a contract matches or resembles known scam contracts. Compare contract bytecode to detect code-level similarities with known malicious contracts. Analyze function signatures to identify scam patterns — unrestricted minting, blacklisting, owner-only transfers, and approval phishing. Compare admin key configurations and ownership patterns against known scam profiles. Examine proxy patterns and deployment timestamps for suspicious matching. Compare source code structure patterns to identify forks or copy-paste deployments. The tool generates similarity scores against a database of known scam contracts and verified protocol templates. The AI translates these technical findings into a plain-language verdict — Matches Known Scam, Similar to Scam Pattern, Fork of Known Scam, Safe Template, or Novel — with matching scam families, confidence percentages, shared risk factors, and a final recommendation.

HOW TO USE

1. Connect your Web3 wallet (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BSC, or any EVM-compatible chain).

2. Select the network that matches your target chain from the dropdown.

3. Paste the contract address you want to compare against known scams.

4. Select matching depth (standard or deep).

5. Click "match known scams" to read on-chain contract data, compare against the scam database, and generate an AI explanation.

6. Review the verdict, matching scam families with confidence percentages, specific shared risk factors, and recommendation.

7. Make an informed decision about whether the contract is likely a scam.

8. Remember: the AI explanation informs your decision, but your wallet's signature prompt is what actually protects you — always review it before signing.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

Contract Similarity Scam Matcher reads real on-chain contract data including bytecode, function signatures, and ownership configurations. The tool uses bytecode similarity comparison (via opcode sequence analysis) to identify contracts that share significant code with known scam templates. It extracts function signatures from the bytecode and compares them against a database of scam function patterns — minting functions, blacklisting functions, owner-only transfer functions, and approval functions. It analyzes admin configuration patterns (single-key vs multi-sig vs renounced) and compares them against scam profiles. It checks for proxy patterns and deployment timing patterns that match known scam deployment strategies. The parsed on-chain data and similarity metrics are then passed to the AI bridge (BGAI.generate) which produces a structured verdict in plain language. The AI explanation is capped at 1,024 tokens and focuses on actionable flags and clear risk communication. The tool presents the verdict and specific matching data before any action is taken, enabling the user to make an informed decision.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot guarantee detection of all similar scam contracts — scammers may use novel code patterns or obfuscation techniques not yet recognized. It cannot detect obfuscated code similarity that hides the true nature of the contract. It cannot verify that similar code patterns are malicious rather than legitimate templates — many legitimate projects fork open-source code. It cannot ensure that all known scam contracts are in the comparison database. The AI analysis is based solely on on-chain contract data — it cannot detect off-chain intent, future contract upgrades, or social engineering attacks. Always verify critical information independently and never rely solely on automated analysis for financial decisions. The AI explanation is generated and does not replace reviewing what you are actually signing in your wallet.

PLEASE NOTE

Contract Similarity Scam Matcher supports EVM-compatible blockchains only (Ethereum Mainnet, Goerli, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, and others via network selection). The tool requires a free API key for the AI bridge. The tool never submits transactions or signs messages; it is strictly read-only. The AI explanation is generated after reading on-chain data — always review your wallet's signature prompt before approving any transaction. Similarity does not prove malicious intent — some contracts may legitimately fork or copy open-source code. Deep matching may take longer but provides more thorough comparison. The tool relies on bytecode data which may not be available for all networks or for unverified contracts.
