About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Cross-Chain Message Fee Prepayment Tool is a DeFi-focused tool that enables users to prepay fees for cross-chain messages across EVM-compatible blockchain networks. Unlike generic bridge interfaces that charge fees per transaction at the time of execution, this tool allows you to deposit native currency into a bridge contract's prepayment pool, which is then used to cover message fees in advance. It reads bridge fee schedules, checks prepayment balances, monitors message queue status, pulls gas price oracle data, tracks destination chain fee parameters, and maintains user prepayment history. The tool supports Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and Base, providing a unified interface to deposit, monitor, and manage prepaid message fees. This is essential for frequent cross-chain users who want to lock in current fee rates, avoid per-transaction approval overhead, and streamline their multi-chain messaging workflow.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using WalletConnect or a compatible browser extension. Ensure your wallet is on the source chain where the bridge contract is deployed. Select the source and destination chains from the dropdown menus. Enter the bridge contract address that handles fee prepayment—this is the contract you are interacting with, and you are vouching for its safety. Enter the amount of native currency you want to prepay and the number of messages you want to cover. Click "Check prepayment status" to read your current prepaid balance, the fee per message, the message queue length, and the total fee required to cover your messages. If your balance is insufficient, the "Prepay fees" button appears. Click it to submit the prepayment transaction, depositing native currency into the bridge's fee pool. The tool displays a transaction link to your chain's block explorer and logs the final gas cost using receipt.effectiveGasPrice for accurate post-EIP-1559 fee tracking.

ADAPTIVE FEE ESTIMATION AND BALANCE MANAGEMENT ENGINE

The core technical mechanism that distinguishes this tool is its adaptive fee estimation and balance management engine. Unlike simple deposit tools that just send funds, this tool performs a multi-layered fee calculation. It first queries the bridge contract's feePerMessage() view to get the base fee, then cross-references with the destination chain's current gas price via the bridge's oracle feed. The engine calculates the total required fee using a dynamic formula that accounts for both the source chain's gas costs and the destination chain's execution costs—multiplying feePerMessage by the number of messages and adding a buffer for gas price volatility. When estimating the required amount, the tool applies a safety margin (configurable via the bridge contract) to protect against mid-transaction fee increases. The balance management component tracks prepaid balances across multiple destination chains and deducts fees as messages are processed, maintaining a running balance that updates in real-time. The tool also implements a queue status monitor that reads the pending message count from the bridge contract—if the queue exceeds a threshold, the tool suggests prepaying additional fees to ensure smooth processing. All RPC calls are wrapped with timeout and retry logic, and the tool automatically falls back to a secondary provider if the primary endpoint fails or rate-limits, ensuring the fee estimates remain accurate even during network congestion.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

The tool cannot guarantee that prepaid fees will be consumed correctly if the bridge's fee schedule changes after prepayment, the destination chain's gas costs increase unexpectedly, or the bridge relayer fails to process the prepayment within the validity window. It has no visibility into off-chain bridge relayer status, operator interventions, or governance changes that occur after the prepayment transaction is submitted. The tool cannot predict the exact confirmation time on destination chains, nor can it detect mempool congestion beyond standard gas price estimates. It does not monitor prepayment balances after deposit—it is a prepayment tool, not a balance tracking service. The tool cannot interact with non-EVM chains, private networks, or bridges that do not implement the standard prepayment interface it expects. It also cannot recover funds if you prepay to an incorrect contract address or send an amount that is later devalued by fee changes.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool is designed exclusively for EVM-compatible blockchain networks. It supports Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Base, and similar chains. Non-EVM networks such as Solana, Cosmos, or Bitcoin are not supported. Always verify the bridge contract address before prepaying—the tool does not validate contract safety or prepayment terms. The tool provides estimates only—actual fees and gas costs are determined at the time of message execution. Users are responsible for understanding bridge risks, including smart contract vulnerabilities, bridge downtime, and potential fee schedule changes.
