About this app

WHAT IT DOES

The DAO Streaming Payroll Setup Tool enables creation of continuous payment streams for DAO contributors. It reads comprehensive state from DAO payroll and streaming contracts including contributor addresses, pay rates, pay intervals, stream duration, total compensation, claimed amount, remaining balance, stream status (pending, active, completed, terminated), start and end times, vesting schedules, termination eligibility, platform fees, DAO treasury balance, budget allocation, and contributor records. Users can set up streams using multiple methods: setupPayroll with full parameters, createStream with vesting option, startPayroll for immediate activation, or initiatePayroll with full control. The tool displays contributor details, pay rates, intervals, total compensation, stream status, treasury balance, and stream history, providing full visibility before creating DAO payroll streams.

HOW TO USE

Connect your Web3 wallet and paste the DAO payroll/stream contract address and payment token contract address. The tool never hardcodes addresses—you specify the contracts you're vouching for. Enter the contributor address, select the setup method, specify the pay rate (tokens per second), pay interval in seconds, and stream duration in seconds. Optionally provide custom stream data, check "Approve token spending" to handle approvals automatically, or "Include vesting schedule" for vesting terms. Click "Fetch payroll state" to view contributor, pay rate, pay interval, total compensation, stream status, start/end times, DAO treasury balance, platform fee, and contributor stream history. Review the displayed parameters and treasury balance carefully—setting up a payroll stream funds continuous payments to the contributor. Click "Setup stream" to submit the setup transaction. Transaction status, gas costs, and confirmation are displayed upon completion.

MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE: DUAL-CONTRACT STATE AGGREGATION WITH CONTRIBUTOR HISTORY DISCOVERY

Unlike hardcoded payroll tools that only read from a single contract, this tool simultaneously aggregates state from both payroll and token contracts, fetching eight different data points in parallel using Promise.all with individual error boundaries. This ensures that a revert in one view function doesn't prevent retrieval of other critical metrics. The tool automatically discovers contributor stream history by iterating through stream event indices until it hits empty entries (capped at 10 for performance), displaying contributor addresses, rates, and status for full transparency. The tool dynamically selects the appropriate setup method based on user input—setupPayroll with full parameters, createStream with vesting, startPayroll for immediate activation, and initiatePayroll with full control. Gas estimation factors in setup method complexity and total compensation amount, and the tool uses receipt.effectiveGasPrice post-transaction for accurate cost reporting rather than relying on the pre-EIP-1559 gasPrice cap. Pay rates, intervals, and treasury balances are displayed prominently, enabling informed payroll setup decisions.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify that the DAO payroll contract or streaming contract is legitimate or has not been compromised. It cannot detect if the stream parameters have been manipulated or if the contracts have been upgraded or modified. Stream setup may not execute at optimal gas price due to network conditions or succeed if the contract is paused or frozen. The tool cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs or insufficient approval. It cannot verify that stream parameters are valid, predict gas prices during congestion, or detect if the setup has been front-run. The tool cannot ensure that the stream will be funded, provide financial, legal, or tax advice, guarantee that payroll will be processed correctly, verify off-chain contributor details, ensure that all conditions for setup are met, or track stream status outside of the tool. DAO payroll streams depend on contract funding—ensure the DAO treasury has sufficient tokens for the total compensation.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool operates on EVM-compatible chains only. It reads from and writes to DAO payroll and stream contracts but provides no financial, legal, or tax advice. All payroll setup decisions remain your responsibility. Always verify contract addresses, contributor addresses, pay rates, and compensation amounts before submitting transactions. The tool displays current state but does not automatically set up streams—you must review and confirm each transaction through your wallet. Gas costs vary by network conditions and compensation amount; the tool estimates but cannot guarantee optimal pricing. Vesting schedules, if applied, may lock contributor payments over time—understand the terms before enabling. DAO treasury balance must be sufficient to cover the full stream duration—ensure adequate funding before setup.
