About this app
WHAT IT DOES
ENS Expiry Risk Explainer takes an ENS domain name (e.g., vitalik.eth) and provides a focused risk assessment of its expiry status. ENS domains must be renewed periodically; if they expire, the owner risks losing the name permanently or paying a premium to reclaim it. This tool reads the ETH registrar contract to fetch the domain's expiry timestamp, then compares it against the current block timestamp to compute the time remaining until expiry. It also checks whether the name is in the grace period (the 90-day window after expiry during which the original owner can still renew) and determines if the name is registered, in grace period, or fully expired. If available, it fetches the renewal cost (rentDue) in ETH. Historical renewal and expiry events (NameRegistered, NameRenewed, NameExpired) are fetched using chunked, backoff‑aware log scanning to provide context on past renewals and changes. The output includes the expiry date, time remaining, grace period status, renewal cost, a risk level classification (Low if >30 days, Medium if 7–30 days, High if
