WHAT IT DOES
This tool simulates and monitors explorer API rate limit usage with real-time metrics, usage visualization, and capacity planning recommendations. It analyzes rate limit data—including X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Limit, and Retry-After headers—to provide a clear picture of your API usage patterns. The tool simulates request loads against configurable rate limits, visualizes usage distribution, and identifies potential bottlenecks. HOW TO USE
Connect your wallet (read-only, no transaction required) and select the target network. Enter the API service name, optionally provide the API endpoint URL, set the rate limit (requests per second), and specify the number of simulated requests. Click "simulate rate limit usage" and the tool will simulate request distribution, analyze usage patterns, and generate a comprehensive rate limit report. Results display a summary with API name, rate limit, request count, estimated time, and usage metrics, a usage visualization bar showing average and peak usage relative to the limit, detailed metric cards for each tracked metric, and a table of all metrics with status indicators. Use the report to optimize request patterns, plan capacity, and avoid rate limit violations.
TECHNICAL MECHANISM
The analyzer uses a request simulation engine that models API request patterns against a configurable rate limit. The engine generates a simulated request timeline with variable usage—including periodic peaks and troughs to reflect realistic API usage patterns. It calculates key metrics including average usage, peak usage, and minimum usage, and compares these against the configured rate limit. The tool also estimates the total time required for the simulated requests and provides a remaining capacity calculation. Usage is visualized through a color-coded bar chart showing both average and peak usage relative to the rate limit, with green (safe), amber (warning), and red (exceeded) zones. The tool also provides recommendations based on usage patterns—suggesting request queuing, caching, or batching when usage approaches the limit. Results are compiled into a structured report with detailed metrics, usage visualization, and actionable recommendations for optimizing API usage.
WHAT IT CANNOT SEE
This tool cannot actually modify or bypass explorer API rate limits—it performs monitoring and simulation only. It is limited by the accuracy of rate limit data returned in API headers; if the API does not provide accurate headers, the simulation results may not reflect real conditions. It cannot predict future rate limit changes or adjustments by the API provider. The analysis relies on the accuracy and completeness of API response data and header parsing; incomplete or missing headers may produce incomplete results. It cannot analyze rate limit behavior for APIs that do not provide standard rate limit headers (X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Limit, Retry-After). The tool is limited to the specific API endpoints and rate limit configurations that are accessible and provide rate limit information. It cannot guarantee rate limit simulation accuracy without actual API request testing—the simulation is based on modeled patterns, not actual requests. It cannot enforce rate limit policies on external systems—it provides analysis but does not control request throttling.
