About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Feature Request Drafter is a writing tool that analyzes product descriptions, existing features, and help documentation from any webpage, then drafts a clear, constructive feature request email. It identifies the product context, existing functionality, and potential gaps, then generates a well-structured request that describes the desired feature, explains the use case and why it would be valuable, and suggests one or two implementation ideas or approaches. You can choose between a concise or detailed style, review the draft in the panel, edit it as needed, and copy it for use in your email client or product feedback form.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage displaying product descriptions, existing features, help documentation, or similar product content. Common sources include product websites, software documentation, help centers, and feature request portals.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any page that displays a product description, existing features, or help documentation. Open the BotGentz extension and select Feature Request Drafter from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Enter your full name and email address in the provided fields (these are stored locally for future use). Enter a description of the desired feature, an explanation of the use case and its value, and optionally any suggested implementation ideas. Select your preferred style (concise or detailed) from the dropdown menu. Click the "Draft Request" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant product context and sends it along with your information to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a clear, constructive feature request in the panel. Review the draft, make any edits directly in the panel, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for use in your email client.

TECHNICAL SECTION — PRODUCT AND FEATURE CONTEXT EXTRACTION

This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on product documentation and feature request communication patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing product indicators such as "product," "feature," "description," "functionality," "use case," "implementation," "documentation," "help," and "capabilities." Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures both the product data and surrounding structural markers (feature lists, help topics, product descriptions). Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being part of a product context using features like product language frequency ("product," "feature," "functionality," "capability"), feature markers, and documentation indicators. Fourth, the system applies semantic clustering to group related content into three core categories: the product description, existing features, and any gaps or missing functionality. Finally, the structured clusters, combined with the user's provided information (name, email, feature description, use case, implementation ideas, and style preference), are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to generate a clear, constructive feature request with standardized sections (greeting, feature description, use case and value explanation, implementation suggestions, and polite closing), reducing hallucination and ensuring a professional, contextually appropriate draft.

THE PANEL

The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active subscription to access the AI drafting feature. AI-generated feature requests are for assistance only and should be reviewed for accuracy and completeness before sending, as interpretations may occasionally miss product nuances or misread feature gaps. Websites change their product page formats frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API; your personal information (name, email) is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the AI as part of the draft generation. No browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
