WHAT IT DOES

The Funding Rate Farming Vault Depositor provides a simple interface for depositing assets into a vault that farms funding rates from perpetual futures markets. You specify the vault contract address, the asset to deposit (native currency or ERC-20 token), and the amount. The tool reads the vault's current APY, funding rate history, deposit cap, total assets under management, and calculates how many vault shares you will receive. After reviewing the performance metrics and your expected position, you can execute the deposit in a single transaction, with the tool handling approvals and native deposits seamlessly.

HOW TO USE

Connect your EVM wallet and select the network where the vault is deployed. Enter the vault contract address and the deposit token address (use 0x0 for native currency). Specify the amount you wish to deposit in token units (e.g., 100.5). Click "Preview deposit" to see the vault's current APY, recent funding rates, your balance, the number of shares you'll receive, and any deposit limits. If the preview looks correct, click "Deposit into vault" — the tool will check your allowance, request approval if needed (for ERC-20 tokens), and execute the deposit. For native deposits, it will send the ETH directly with the transaction. Progress is shown in real-time, and gas costs are calculated accurately using effectiveGasPrice.

ONE TECHNICAL SECTION — THE REAL MECHANISM

The tool interacts with ERC-4626-compatible vaults that implement funding rate farming strategies — typically involving delta-neutral positions that capture perpetual futures funding payments. The vault uses the asset() method to determine the deposit token, then fetches the token's decimals and symbol. It reads current APY via currentAPY() and a history of funding rates via fundingRateHistory() to give you insight into past performance. The convertToShares() method calculates the exact number of shares you will receive for your deposit amount, while maxDeposit() provides the current deposit limit. For execution, the tool checks allowance and approves only the exact amount needed for ERC-20 deposits. For native deposits, it uses the payable deposit() function with the value field set to your deposit amount. This ensures safe, precise execution with minimal user friction.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

The tool cannot predict future funding rates or guarantee profitable farming returns. It does not evaluate market conditions, the sustainability of funding rates, or the risk of the vault's underlying positions. It cannot detect if the vault's strategy is underperforming or if the funding rate environment has changed. It does not provide financial advice or ensure that the vault will generate positive returns. The tool also cannot recover funds deposited to a malicious or non-compliant vault — always verify the vault contract address and strategy before depositing.

This tool is EVM-only and supports Ethereum, Goerli, Sepolia, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Base. It does not support Solana, Tron, Starknet, SUI, TON, Aptos, Bitcoin, Cosmos, or XRP.
