About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Game Schedule Timezone Converter automatically detects game schedule dates and times on sports pages and converts them to your local timezone. A compact badge appears next to each game time showing the converted time in your local timezone, with the timezone abbreviation clearly labeled. The tool also optionally shows the original time for reference, making it easy to compare timezone differences. This is essential for sports fans following teams in different time zones, ensuring you never miss a game due to timezone confusion.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on any website that displays game schedules, sports calendars, or event times. It functions on team pages, league sites, sports news sites, event calendars, and any page with date and time information. The tool works across all domains and adapts to various time and date formats.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to any page with game schedules or event times. The tool automatically detects dates and times and displays a converted time badge next to each time. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle converted time display on or off, choose the time format (12-hour AM/PM or 24-hour), toggle original time display on or off, and toggle timezone label display on or off. Click "Convert Times" to manually refresh the conversion after new content loads. The status area shows how many times were converted.

TECHNICAL SECTION — TIME DETECTION AND CONVERSION ENGINE

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find dates and times on sports pages. It scans for elements with time-related selectors (.schedule, .game-time, .game-date, .time, .date) and parses datetime attributes and text content using regex patterns for multiple date formats (MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, month-name formats, and time-only formats). Each detected time is converted to the user's local timezone using JavaScript's Date object and Intl.DateTimeFormat. The converted time is displayed in a compact badge with the user's timezone abbreviation (extracted from Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions().timeZone). The badge is inserted next to the original time element using DOM manipulation with inline CSS.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current conversion status; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or schedule data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads time information visible on the page and does not access any sports API or private data. Time detection accuracy depends on the page structure and date format; some sites may use non-standard formats that the tool cannot parse. The converted time is based on the user's system timezone and may not account for daylight saving time changes automatically.
