Gas Balance Warning Overlay

WHAT IT DOES

Gas Balance Warning Overlay monitors your connected wallet's native token balance and displays a persistent warning overlay when the balance falls below a user-defined threshold. It shows your current balance, the threshold amount, and a color-coded status indicator—green when you're above the threshold, yellow when getting low, and red when critically low. A "Buy/Send" quick-action button opens your wallet's native buy interface or a preset exchange link, making it easy to top up your gas funds. The overlay updates in real-time when the balance changes and includes a manual refresh button. It is small and unobtrusive, can be placed in any corner of the screen, and automatically hides when your balance is above the threshold.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. It connects directly to your real EVM wallet via window.ethereum—no intermediate bridge. It works on any page, making it a universal gas balance monitor.

HOW TO USE

Install the script and navigate to any page. Click "Connect Wallet" to link your EVM wallet. Once connected, the overlay appears and shows your current gas balance. Use the panel to set your warning threshold, adjust the overlay position, and toggle whether to show the overlay even when your balance is sufficient. Click the refresh button on the overlay to manually update your balance. Click the buy button to open a link to buy more gas. The overlay updates automatically at your chosen interval.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool connects via window.ethereum and reads your native token balance using eth_getBalance. It compares your balance against the user-defined threshold and updates the overlay's color and visibility accordingly. The overlay is a fixed-position DOM element with drag support and position persistence via GM_setValue. It uses a color-coded status bar and border to indicate your current gas health: green (safe), yellow (warning), red (critical). The auto-check interval uses setInterval to refresh the balance at a user-defined frequency. The buy button opens a chain-specific URL (e.g., Uniswap, PancakeSwap, or a faucet) to help you acquire more gas.

THE PANEL

The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and a real EVM wallet extension (e.g., MetaMask) installed in your browser. It is EVM-only and works on Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, Base, and other EVM-compatible chains. It cannot detect balance changes from other tabs without a refresh, cannot monitor ERC-20 token balances, and cannot guarantee real-time updates if the RPC provider is slow. Sites change frequently; the script may need updating. No data is collected or stored beyond your own browser settings.
